Furthermore, the term "also" means that, in addition to being the cause of actions that lead to downfall, other faults should also be abandoned. Here, the text states that the act of expulsion performed by the Sangha should not be used to expel those who have committed transgressions, nor should other similar actions be taken. The statement "One should not do things that are in accordance with offenses to those who practice pure conduct" means that those two should not engage in arrogance, contempt, or other such actions towards the places of those who practice pure conduct. The statement "One should think that the discipline will become meaningless" means that those two should think in this way: If we do not abide with reverence in the places of those who practice pure conduct, as previously stated, and do not refrain from moving things and being arrogant, then the discipline we practice will be meaningless and will accumulate faults. One should examine this with certainty in one's mind, for the sake of generating reverence, and therefore it is said. The statement "One should rise early in the morning to open the door and offer lamps" means that those two should rise early in the morning, open the doors of the monastery, and offer lamps. The statement "Sweeping, dusting, and anointing with soft ointment in the monastery" are also things that those two should do. The statement "Clean the places for excretion and urination" means that those two should also clean the places where the Sangha excretes and urinates. The statement "Sweep the ground and place water that is appropriate for the season" means that those two who clean the places for excretion and urination should sweep the ground and place warm water there in winter and cold water in summer. The statement "Offer the eaves" means that those two should offer the eaves of the monastery. The statement "Spread out the cushions" means that those two should spread out the cushions such as chairs for the Sangha. The statement "One should know the time and prepare incense and its censer" means that those two should know the time for offerings and prepare incense and the censer. The statement "If one is able, one should proclaim the qualities of the teacher" means that if one is able, those two should proclaim the qualities of the teacher, the Buddha, the Bhagavan.
