It is not right to put the condemned and the non-Dharma together, because there is no fault in the Dharma aspect. Here, if the scripture allows those who have made vows to enjoy together with those who have not made vows, it is a transgression. It is said in the scripture that there is no downfall in allowing those who have not made vows to enjoy together with those who have made vows. For other condemned persons, these two things should not be done, that is, for those who have been condemned other than those who have been condemned from their residence, who have been threatened, scolded, expelled, and repatriated, one should not live with them, nor should one enjoy with them. Here, the scripture asks: If one does the act of scolding to someone who has already done the act of threatening, should it be said that it has been done? The Blessed One said: It should be said that it has been done, because the act of threatening has become lenient. Therefore, it is said in the scripture that for those who have been condemned other than those who have been condemned from their residence, other condemnations can be imposed. If one does the act of threatening to someone who has been expelled from their residence, should it be said that it has been done? One should not be close, why? Because that is why he left in order not to enjoy with him. Similarly, if one does the act of scolding, expelling, and repatriating to someone who has been expelled from their residence, should it be said that it has been done? One should not be close, why? Because that is why he left in order not to enjoy with him. Therefore, this sutra was made. Therefore, one should live relying on a friend, that is, the condemned person should live relying on a friend, and it will be the same even for those who have committed offenses. Here, the scripture says: One should not live in a place where there is no residence, what does that mean? For those who have friendship, respect, a sense of shame, or a pleasing mind towards someone, one should live there. This is what the scripture allows. If the condemned or the expelled degenerate relies on change, the utensils should also be taken out and discarded, that is, if a monk is a condemned person, or if he is expelled for violating the precepts, if he shows changes such as bear claws and anger, then at that time his

The implements should also be taken out and discarded. "To be expelled by force" refers to the two individuals mentioned earlier: the one who acts stubbornly and the one who has broken their vows. "The place they are holding onto should be cut off" means that when those two individuals are expelled, the pillars or anything else they are holding onto should also be cut off. "If it is not something that will collapse, then remove it" means that if the place they are holding onto and which is to be cut off is not something that will collapse, then it should be removed. Here, the scripture says, "For them, the pillars should be cut off, and the doorposts should be removed." Therefore, those two monks were dealt with in that way. "That should be repaired by the Sangha" means that the cutting off and removal should be repaired by the Sangha, not by the one who cut off and removed it. If asked how, it is said, "Entrust it," meaning entrust it to the patron. "If it cannot be completed, then use the property of the monastery" means that if the entrustment cannot be completed, then the property of the monastery should be used to repair it. "When a quarrelsome person is expelled, do not take them back" means that when a quarrelsome monk is expelled from the monastery, other monks should not take them back, as this arises from trivial matters. "If, despite efforts to dissuade the quarrelsome person, they do not repent, they should be expelled from the residence in order to pacify them" means that for a quarrelsome person, threatening them to pacify them, in order to pacify them, they should be expelled from the residence. This means that for a quarrelsome person, starting with threats to pacify them, and despite efforts to dissuade them, they do not repent or give up the quarrel, then the action of expelling them from the residence should be taken. For those who repeatedly cause quarrels for other reasons, the punishment of threats should be applied. For those who do not give up the quarrel, the punishment of expulsion from the residence should be applied; the difference in the objects of these two lies in this. Here, the scripture in the Vinaya states that the Blessed One taught, "Quarrelsome people should be restrained." If they are not restrained, they should not reside. The Blessed One taught, "If they cannot be restrained, they should not reside; they should be expelled from the residence." "Arising from discrimination and determination, pacify it" means, "This is like this, this is not like this," and so on.
