Therefore, to whom should one confess? Therefore, it is said, "To that single one who does not differ in view." The word "that" refers to the non-difference in view that possesses the distinctions previously shown, such as abiding in one's own nature. The word "single" is spoken to exclude the many, thus indicating that confession is made to a single person. Therefore, one should confess to a single one who, as previously stated, abides in his own nature, is endowed with full ordination, and whose view and name are consistent. Should one confess to everyone? Therefore, it is said, "In the place of non-conflicting transgressions." This refers to different offenses. How can a transgression itself be non-conflicting? Therefore, it is said, "From the category." This means that if the object to whom one should confess does not conflict in category with the offense committed, then it is permissible to confess to him. Here, the scriptures also say, "A monk's offenses are of the same category," and also say, "Offenses are of different categories." What is a monk's offense of the same category? And what is of a different category? If a monk commits a pārājika offense, then it is of the same category as a pārājika offense, and of a different category from anything else. A saṃghāvaśeṣa offense is the same as a saṃghāvaśeṣa offense. A pātayantika offense is the same as a pātayantika offense. A pratideśanīya offense is the same as a pratideśanīya offense. A duḥkṛta offense is the same as a duḥkṛta offense. This explains that it includes independent duḥkṛta offenses, and it should be known that any duḥkṛta offense that is related to another offense, merely by confessing that offense, it will also be considered confessed. Is it not necessary to repeat it? No, therefore it is said, "If there is none, then from the offense." This means that if the object to whom one should confess does not have a non-conflicting transgression in the category, then one should confess before a transgression that does not conflict with the offense. Here, the scriptures say, can a monk confess an offense before the same offense with the same offense? A monk is not allowed. If there are such circumstances, it can be regarded as a different category, and it is allowed. In terms of abandonment, it means from previously abandoning and separating. That is to say, from the offense of abandonment.

If one abandons those items, and prioritizes both abandoning those items and separating from the overnight item, then confession will be sufficient to recover. On that overnight item, do not bless other Dharma robes, but remain in a state without Dharma robes that can be blessed. Do not bless other Dharma robes, and will not be separated from what can be blessed. As for the grave offense belonging to the offenses with remainder, it is said that one confesses to all of the five or more members of the Sangha. The term "belonging to the offenses with remainder" means that here, because it is an offense with remainder that needs to be remedied, it should be understood as a Sanghavasesa offense. As for the grave offense related to that offense, one recovers by confessing to all of the five or more members of the Sangha belonging to that area. As for the minor offense belonging to the Sanghavasesa offenses, one recovers by confessing to one person. As for the grave offense belonging to the offenses without remainder, it is called "unsevered remainder," which means that here, it is an offense without remainder that needs no remedy, it is completely without remainder, and it should be understood as an offense that leads to defeat. As for the grave offense related to that offense, one recovers by confessing to all of the six or more members of the Sangha belonging to that area, from the base of the Sangha's residence to outside the boundary, without severing more than five. Therefore, in a place where there are few monks, one should seek monks from other places and confess until a Sangha of six is complete, but do not establish another Sangha there and confess to a separate group of six or more. The minor offense is confessed to four or more, called: As for the minor offense belonging to the offenses without remainder, one recovers by confessing to all of the four or more members of the Sangha belonging to that area without severing. How does one know the gravity of a grave offense? An offense with many faults is a grave offense, and an offense with
