Or? It is said that one should not be close to relatives, etc. It is said that even the name should be known, meaning that if one cannot know it widely, then even for any of the five types of offenses, one should know only the name. The sentence here is, "Has a defeat occurred to me?" Or, whatever has not stated the type that should be confessed separately, and the monk sitting on that seat, that venerable one, has a Sanghavasesa offense occurred to me? Or, one should say that an offense of downfall has occurred. That is what is said. Although it is very appropriate to know it widely, even the name of the offense should be spoken. The sentence there is also, "Venerable one, I have not offered the training and have engaged in impure conduct, practicing the Dharma of intercourse," etc. That is what is said. Therefore, in terms of the ultimate aspect, it is said that it should be recognized only by name. It is said that a misdeed is any kind, meaning that for the sake of recognizing a misdeed, either saying that an offense has occurred to me, or that I have done something that should not be done, it should be recognized in any way. To whom should those be recognized? Therefore, it is said that it is for the one who abides in his own nature, and it should be recognized by the monk who abides in his own nature. The sentence here is, from the basis of the one who reports, the close relatives who abide in their own nature reside within the boundary. That is what is said. If it is not one's own sect, does it also abide in its own nature? Therefore, it is said that it is for those whose views do not differ, and if the views do not differ, then at that time it should be recognized in front of him. Does one who has renounced and has not taken full ordination, who has not broken the true vows, and the householder's true vows, also abide in their own nature? Therefore, it is said that it is for those who have full ordination, and it should be recognized by them. Should a monk also recognize a nun, and should a nun also recognize a monk? Therefore, it is said that it is for those of the same gender. Thus, because of the similarity, even one who has not taken full ordination should.

Should one recognize and confess transgressions for those who are not fully ordained? Therefore, it is said, "Therefore, for that very one, including this and what follows." For those who possess the complete Bhikshu vows, the recognition of transgressions by Shramaneras, etc., should be done together with the confession of transgressions that will appear below. Why is it not permissible in a place of a different kind? Therefore, it is said, "Therefore, those who have renounced but are not fully ordained are merely accepted by the Sangha of fully ordained Bhikshus." Therefore, all actions of Shramaneras, etc., are entirely dependent on full ordination, and this is certain. Thus, it is known from the statement, "Those who have renounced but are not fully ordained should make distinctions for the Sangha." Regarding the statement, "If this Dharma practitioner does that, it is done," the term "this Dharma practitioner" includes all Bhikshus with different precepts, those who have renounced but are not fully ordained, and all laypeople who hold the views of the Tathagata's Dharma. For these "Dharma practitioners," if the recognition of transgressions is done, it is done, because recognizing it will not become concealment. Then, why is it necessary to specifically say "for those who possess the complete Bhikshu vows," etc.? The reason for stating it so definitively earlier is to prevent the Sangha from being disrespectful to the place, and it should be understood that this is to show that it is unreasonable. Then, why was this Sutra made? It is to speak of what has not been spoken. Therefore, even if one recognizes transgressions for fully ordained Bhikshus with different precepts, it will not become concealment, but recognizing it will become a misdeed. Recognizing transgressions for those who are not fully ordained will not become concealment, but recognizing a bad situation will become a transgression. Speaking of a non-bad situation will become a misdeed. Recognizing transgressions for those who are not fully ordained and have the same precepts will neither become concealment nor a transgression, and this is the distinction here. Here, the treatise is from the basis of the person questioned by Ananda. If one speaks to a Bhikshu, should one say it? Should one say it to Ananda? Similarly, for Shramaneras and those who have been given training, and for Bhikshunis, etc.
