The action is: blessing at the time of healing and separation, intention and complete purification, granting separation, expulsions, etc., stating the past when fully abiding, expelling fully abiding, etc., and saying, "Today is this day of this month," and it is reasonable to join palms for that. If someone speaks for their own benefit, after making a request, say, "It is a means," meaning: If someone speaks only to accomplish their own benefit, the person making the request should have them recite it and then say, "It is a means." What arises from means is a means, and your doing so is a means to accomplish that matter, that is the meaning. After that, another person says, "Good," meaning: After the person making the request says the words "It is a means," another person making the request should say, "Good." Whatever is said as "It is a means" is good, meaning "That is a means." Appointing someone who is free from desire, hatred, delusion, and fear, and who is able to remember what has been done and not done, making them happy, means: Appointing someone who is able to remember what has been done and not done. What kind of difference is there? Being free from desire, etc., for the practitioner. How to appoint? By making them happy. It should be stated that one abides in what has been done, meaning: When the action of the request and the two, or the action of the request and the four, has been done, the one performing the action should state the conclusion of the action being completed, for example, after the Sangha has tolerated and permitted, the Sangha has completely ordained so-and-so, who is called so-and-so, in this way, without saying anything, accepting it as it is, and so on. This ritual is not present in the action of merely requesting, because the request is only for making it understood. It should be known that cutting off the boundary itself is the same as cutting off. Here, the cutting off of the boundary itself means the very beginning of cutting off the boundary. Therefore, whatever is the cutting off of the boundary itself is the same as cutting off.

This is about the conduct of the boundary: Just as if the Sangha does not press the boundary and cuts off the boundary, then the cutting off of the boundary itself will not be accomplished. If the Sangha does not press the boundary and starts to cut off the boundary, then starting to cut off will also not be accomplished. Thus it is taught: Just as if the Sangha dwells in another boundary and the cutting off of the boundary itself will not be accomplished, so also the cutting off of the boundary will not be accomplished. Thus, if the Sangha dwelling in the front of the boundary that one wants to cut off and the other boundary of the adjacent side performs the cutting off, then the side of the front part adjacent to the Sangha will also not be cut off. This is an explanation of "dwelling in another boundary is not even a limb of anything." Understanding those to be assembled by the one who gathers, striking the bell, and the statements that follow the inquiry, means: The person who gathers the Sangha strikes the bell, and when asking why it was struck, by stating "it was struck for this reason," establishing that they gather there, one should understand that these are the monks who should be assembled. He spreads out the seats for their sake, meaning: The one who gathers spreads out the seats for the sake of those who should be assembled. The appointed task is for that purpose itself, meaning: The appointed task, such as the hand attendant, etc., for the purpose for which he is appointed, that is, the place where the Sangha will gather, what should be established following the gathering of the Sangha is, one should know that it is the work of the one who is appointed. Everything in order of seniority, meaning: The direction of the tree and the meadow, as well as the land of the monastery and all the places of dwelling, should be appointed in order of seniority. For things to be received, intention is the best, meaning: For gathering, prostration, and going forward, etc., one can only arrange in order of seniority, and cannot arrange according to intention. For things to be received, such as dwellings, etc., arranging according to intention is the best, and cannot be arranged according to things. If the receiver is an elder, then whatever is bad, in order to give it to him, intention is the best, for whoever obtains good
