Furthermore, regarding the remaining Sangha offenses that are allowed to be accepted, the following four situations: separation at night, separation during the day, traveling, and crossing a river, if each time there is no other Bhikshuni accompanying, know that these situations will constitute a violation. The Bhikshuni herself is one-third lost, meaning that if a Bhikshu Shikshamana (female trainee) is with a Bhikshuni, and in the absence of another Bhikshuni, the four Sangha offenses of separation at night, separation during the day, traveling, and crossing a river occur, then this Bhikshu Shikshamana is equivalent to losing one-third of her Bhikshuni status. If this is the case, when establishing the offenses, if a Bhikshuni is with a Bhikshu Shikshamana and they separate at night, separate during the day, travel, and cross a river, it will not constitute a Sangha offense and a gross offense, but rather: in the actual act position, it constitutes a misdeed, and in the gross offense position, it constitutes a minor misdeed. In order to accomplish two-thirds, know that there is no situation for these two offenses here. A Shramanerika (novice nun) is one-third, meaning that if a Bhikshuni is with a Shramanerika and they separate at night, separate during the day, travel, and cross a river, then this Shramanerika is equivalent to accomplishing one-third of being with a Bhikshuni, and losing two-thirds. Because for this Shramanerika, there is no Bhikshuni herself and Bhikshuni herself. Therefore, when a Bhikshuni is with a Shramanerika and they separate at night, etc., here, in the actual act position, it constitutes a gross offense, in the preparatory act position, it constitutes a misdeed, and in the preparatory act of the preparatory act position, it constitutes a minor misdeed. If one separates unwillingly, then there is no offense, meaning that when a Bhikshuni is with a Dharma friend Bhikshuni and they separate at night, separate during the day, travel, and cross a river, if one does not want to separate from the Dharma friend, but is powerless to prevent it and separates from the Dharma friend, then there is no offense, and it will not constitute an offense.

“Uro” is a sentence-ending word. Here, the scripture says: If a following bhikshuni is beaten, dies, decays, falls, or flees to another territory or another place, there is no transgression. Decay means “falling down.” Falling means “becoming a defeat.” In the phrase “even due to obstacles,” the word “also” can be understood as “even if separated, there is no fault.” A bhikshuni together with a precept-holding bhikshuni, separating at night, separating during the day, entering a road, crossing a river, this is due to the obstacles of practice and brahmacharya, and there is no fault in separating from the precept-holder. Among these four sanghavasesas, when is it preparation and when is it the actual act? Therefore, it is said: “In relation to time, before the end is preparation.” In relation to time, it refers to actions related to time, that is, the difference in actions depending on night and day, the two situations of separating at night and separating during the day. The end refers to the end of the time of night and day, that is, the moment. At the end, the actions such as separation that occur are the actual act. Before the end refers to any time before the moment of the end, and at this time, the actions such as association that occur are preparation. This is explained as follows: Any action that occurs before the time that becomes the end is preparation, and the action that occurs at the time that becomes the end itself is the actual act. How is this understood? Therefore, the scripture says: “Leaving the summer residence and welcoming the dawn of night elsewhere.” If a bhikshuni alone welcomes the dawn of night outside the summer residence, then all of these will become sanghavasesas. These two here show separation during the day and separation during the night. Here, only the end is considered the actual act, therefore, any time before that can only be considered preparation.
