Yes, from where should the Sangha gather? In the monastery, there should be no sound of worldly chatter, nor the noisy sounds of kitchens, etc. The Sangha should gather in a place where these sounds do not occur or are not heard. The phrase "enter as many as needed" means that as many monks and mischievous children, etc., as are needed should enter the monastery, but do not summon all of them. This is its meaning. The phrase "food and clothing should be given" refers to the servants of the Sangha. The phrase "if they work" means that if the servants work, they should be given food and clothing. The phrase "serve the sick" means that if the servants are sick, do not abandon them, but care for them with medicine, etc. The phrase "cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, elephants, horses, mules, donkeys, grains, and utensils, etc." means that they should be taken for the sake of the Sangha. Here, the question is: Is it permissible for a monk to enjoy the supreme enjoyment? The answer is: Katyayana, it is permissible to take for the sake of the Sangha. Among them, enjoyment refers to villages and lands. Supreme enjoyment refers to cows, buffaloes, goats, and sheep. What are the non-human implements? They refer to elephants, horses, mules, donkeys, goats, and sheep, as well as buffaloes, which the Blessed One permitted to be used for stupas and also for the Sangha. The phrase "are those not also suitable for stupas?" means that villages, etc., and cows, etc., can be taken for the sake of the Sangha, and those can also be taken for the sake of stupas. The phrase "one should carry a tongue scraper and a salt bag" means that individuals should also carry them. The phrase "other than those two and the offered drinking cup, other eating utensils should not be carried by individuals" means that other than the tongue scraper and the salt bag, and the offered drinking cup, other eating utensils should not be carried by individuals, meaning do not possess them as one's own. Like this, other eating utensils should also be used as medicine bowls, therefore it is said that they should be fully used, so this is a way of negating possession. The phrase "the monastery should be established nearby" refers to here

The term "placing nearby" means to cut off, so the Sangha or an individual should also cut off servitude. Here, the rule is, what are the impure utensils? The Venerable Kunga Rawa (ཀུན་དགའ་ར་བ་པ་) said that the Blessed One allowed either the Sangha's or an individual's. To protect, one should accept offerings of children of the same gender, meaning: Householders offering boys and girls to the Sangha or an individual for protection, one should accept those of the same gender, monks should accept boys, and nuns should accept girls. Here, the rule is that a robbed woman took refuge in the Blessed One, And after being placed in the foundations of learning, she heard that those children were offered to the Sangha to protect them from the fear of malicious gazes, so they thought, since she temporarily offers the children to the monks for protection, why shouldn't we offer them too? So they started offering, but the monks did not accept, so the Blessed One instructed: One should accept. The attire of those children is that they wear Dharma robes around their necks, meaning: The attire of those children accepted by the monks is that the monks hang pieces of Dharma robes around their necks. It can also be on the waist, meaning: It is also wearing Dharma robes. One should nurture them separately with a mind of benefiting, meaning: The monks should nurture those children separately with a mind of benefiting, not with a mind of coveting wealth. One should accept the offerings offered by their relatives, meaning: One should accept the clothes and other offerings offered to the monks by the relatives of those children. Finally, even as ransom is acceptable, meaning: When those relatives finally redeem the child, it is also acceptable to offer clothes and other things as the child's ransom, because it is what they do out of faith, so there is no need to suspect that this is an improper means of livelihood. Even if they offer it knowingly, it is acceptable, meaning: Even if those children knowingly offer clothes and other things to the monks, it is acceptable. But one should not demand a ransom.
