It is said, "Do not do." Also, it is said, "Do not hold lions, etc.," connected to "leather," do not place the leather of lions and tigers, etc., up to ordinary elephants, etc., nearby. Also, it is said, "Whatever leather is unsuitable, its tendons, bones, teeth, and flesh, etc., are also unsuitable," whatever creature's leather is unsuitable, its tendons, etc., are also unsuitable. It is said, "One should hold an oiled swimming device," meaning that when swimming in water, one should hold a swimming device that has been treated with oil. Also, it is said, "Or a gray swimming device," connected to "one should hold a swimming device." A white swimming device that has been treated with oil is called a gray swimming device. It is said, "Do not hold a variegated one," referring to swimming devices and gray swimming devices. It is said, "Because one does not know how to swim, one should not enter deep water without preparation," meaning that a person who does not know how to swim, without preparation, i.e., without learning to swim, etc., should not enter deep water. Here it is said that a person who does not know how to swim should not completely abandon their body. It is said, "One should learn to swim in a secluded place," meaning that one should learn to swim in a secluded place, this is in order to completely avoid unsightly things. It is said, "Do not rely on a non-leader cow to enter the depths," meaning that because a cow cannot cross, one should not rely on a cow other than the leader of the herd to enter the depths. Here, the mention of "cow" refers only to the kind, it can be a female cow or a male bull. If one relies on a female cow, one will commit one offense against the basis of learning, and another offense of touching a female cow, totaling two offenses. It is said, "Except for the leader," because it has strength and will not become tired. It is said, "One should rely on elephants, horses, buffaloes, and yaks," in order to cross rivers. It is said, "The basis of leather is complete," it has been explained. Now, the basis of medicine is to be collected, therefore it is said, "One should take medicine," meaning one should eat and drink. It is said, "That is four kinds."

Yes, that medicine has four types. Namely: can be taken at any time, can be taken within a limited time, can be taken within seven days, and can be taken for life. Among them, the so-called can be taken at any time refers to being able to take rice and other foods without any distinction before one's meal time. The so-called can be taken within a limited time refers to being able to take it after self-blessing before the deadline of the limited time. The so-called can be taken within seven days refers to being able to take it after self-blessing at any time, day or night, before the deadline of seven days. The so-called can be taken for life refers to being able to take it after self-blessing before the end of life. The so-called "the first is not for the sick" means that the "first" here refers to being able to take it at any time. Apart from being able to take it at any time, the remaining three types, namely being able to take it within a limited time, being able to take it within seven days, and being able to take it for life, are for the sick, not for the non-sick. What is explained here is that the so-called can be taken within a limited time refers to being able to take it after self-blessing at the deadline of the limited time. The so-called can be taken within seven days refers to being able to take it after self-blessing at the deadline of seven days. The so-called can be taken for life refers to being able to take it after self-blessing before the end of life, and these are allowed for the sick, not for the non-sick. Therefore, medicines that can be taken within a limited time, can be taken within seven days, and can be taken for life, cannot be blessed as being able to be taken within a limited time, etc., for non-sick people, nor can they be eaten if they have been blessed by others. Those that have not been blessed can be eaten even at inappropriate times. Here, the question is, for a monk, regarding medicines that can be taken within a limited time, can be taken within seven days, and can be taken for life, if they have been received and blessed, can they be completely discarded if the taste is not suitable? They cannot be enjoyed. If they have been received and blessed, can they be fully enjoyed if the taste is suitable? They can be enjoyed.
