The so-called "placing unsightly objects in a secluded place" means that all unsightly objects such as mending shoes and repairing alms bowls should be handled in a secluded place. For this purpose, needles and leather should be carried, that is, "I am not a net knife." It means that needles and leather should be carried for the purpose of mending shoes. "Not a net knife" means that a large knife for weaving leather is not necessary, and it is forbidden in order to avoid the fault of being seen by others. Here the scripture says that it is okay to carry needles and leather, but not a net knife. The so-called "do not wear wooden shoes except in other houses and toilets" means that you should not wear them anywhere else except these two places. The so-called "bamboo slips, reeds, siri grass, and auspicious grass are also not allowed" also means that you should not wear shoes. The so-called "rope is also not allowed" also means that you should not wear shoes. The so-called "because it is not a wind-blood patient" means that if you are not a wind-blood patient, you should not wear shoes made of rope. If you are a wind-blood patient, you can carry shoes made of rope to prevent them from rotting. The so-called "if there are no other houses, you can sit on leather" means that in other lay people's houses, if there are no other cushions, you can sit on leather. The so-called "there is no such cause there, you cannot sleep" means that in other lay people's houses, if there is no cause for other bedding such as beds, you cannot sleep on that piece of leather. Leather weaves are not non-leather either, because leather is the root, so beds and old beds sewn with leather cannot be sat on either. The so-called "to benefit the eyes, one should carry bear skin" means that one should carry bear skin to benefit the eyes. Here the scripture says that it is permissible to take bear skin. The so-called "place at the position of the feet" means that the bear skin taken can be placed on the mat and under the feet and inside the shoes, etc. The so-called "Buddha's at the door of the clean room" means that the bear skin that possesses the Buddha is in the clean

It should be spread on the floor of the room, and worn in shoes, which means that the bear skin is beneficial for the eyes. Those with wind disorders can also sit and lie on it, which means that those with wind disorders can sit or lie on that bear skin. All those with hemorrhoids are the same, which means that all those with hemorrhoid disease should also spread the bear skin under their feet, wear it in their shoes, and sit and lie on it, as shown before. Here, the scripture says that therefore, the Buddha allowed monks with hemorrhoids to hold bear skin shoes. Following it, it is reasonable to spread it under the feet, sit and lie down, because it is beneficial. It should be applied in that way, which means that the bear skin should be applied diligently in that way. Touching the hair is beneficial, it should be understood, which means that touching the hair of the bear skin can know that it is beneficial. Here, the scripture says that the monks showed the hair of the bear skin downwards, and the Blessed One taught that the hair should be shown upwards. Even if the shoes have many layers, it should be understood that it is beneficial, because even one layer of bear skin is beneficial, so mentioning many layers is to show its superiority. Even placing it on top of many is okay, which means that even placing one layer of bear skin on top of other multiple layers of leather should be understood as beneficial. If there are not many layers available, then, in this case, one layer should be relied upon on top of other layers. Here, the scripture says that in the absence of finding many layers, the Blessed One taught that one layer should be placed on top. In places like Ashmaparanta, one should not fail to hold leather, which means that in places like Ashmaparanta, leather is cut at will, so these other prohibitions are placed here. Here, the scripture says that from the discussion of killing calves, therefore, the monk should hold leather.
