and houses and land, etc., as well as bedding and cushions and clothing and coverings, etc., and utensils, etc., all the common property of the Sangha that is designated and distributed to individuals, those things are not to be distributed for the purpose of owning them. The so-called "edible" refers to medicines that belong to medicine, such as haritaki, etc., these things are also not to be distributed for the purpose of owning them. If there is more than these, it can be exchanged, and there is no fault in offering to the Sangha and offering alms. The so-called "not to be distributed for the purpose of owning" refers to the five things such as the property of stupas, etc., and it is forbidden to distribute them to individuals for the sake of respect. It is forbidden to take it like wine dregs by dividing the work for sprinkling and cleaning and guarding, this is its summary. Volume fifty-five. The so-called "for the acquired objects, entering the summer boundary" means that whatever acquired objects are donated for the sake of the Sangha, saying "this acquired object belongs to the Sangha," then the boundary that enters the summer season is the one they have the right to dispose of. It is not the boundary at the time the acquired object appears that has the right to dispose of it. Here it is shown that: Whatever boundary is established in the summer season, after it is dissolved, the acquired objects that the donor offers to the monks established in that boundary for the sake of the Sangha, then the monks belonging to the summer boundary have the right to dispose of it temporarily. It is not the monks who established the boundary at that time who have the right to dispose of it. Here, the scripture is based on a fixed basis: the monks promised to stay in the summer retreat, and then demarcated the boundary near the village of the practice place, and after they performed the blocking and permission, they demarcated the boundary outside. There, someone also placed another Sangha, and if someone offered Dharma robes to the Sangha, who would get it? Those who stay there in the summer retreat can get it. Why? Because the acquired wealth is determined by the place. If other monks are placed there by the donor, and the acquired wealth is also determined by the donor, why can't they dispose of it? The answer is: The donor

I thought, I should be impoverished for the sake of the Sangha, placing these entirely under my own control, and using this as a repayment. Even if the donor places other monks there, they have no right to control them. If the donor completely cuts off saying that he will offer to these monks and other monks, then there is no doubt that those other monks also have the right to control them. It is said in the sutra, "Because the gain is obtained by relying on a dwelling place." Here, "dwelling place" refers to the summer retreat. The wealth obtained through the summer retreat is called the gain obtained by relying on a dwelling place. It is said in the sutra, "The end of the summer retreat is not without the right to control." It means that if one stays there for a long time, even if the summer retreat ends, that monk is not without the right to control the gain obtained by relying on a dwelling place, but has complete control. The question here is, from where should one give? One should give from the previous summer retreat or the subsequent summer retreat, that is, from the place where one has stayed for a long time. It is said in the sutra, "If one is expelled from the dwelling place, then one has no right to control." It means that if one is expelled from the dwelling place, then one has no right to control the wealth obtained during the summer retreat, because he has been excluded from the Sangha and is outside the dwelling place and enjoyment. It is said in the sutra, "Promising to dwell by suppressing with wealth, then there is only one share." It means that promising to dwell by suppressing with multiple boundaries, such as beds and other wealth, is to collect the portions of the gains from those multiple suppressed boundaries, and then universally give only one share to one person. This is explained as follows: How many boundaries are suppressed, that many boundaries' gains are not controlled. Collect portions from multiple suppressed boundaries, and then control only one share. Since it is said "only one share," then from where should that one and only share be given to him? Therefore, it is said in the sutra, "Therefore, for him, in all the suppressed places, it is only the portion of calculating oneself." It means that for the person who promises to dwell by suppressing with multiple boundaries, such as beds, from all the suppressed boundaries that are counted as belonging to him, each controls one portion, and then from the sum of those portions, only one share is given to one person. This is explained as follows: From those boundaries that have suppressed two, three, or four, etc., multiple boundaries
