Nano. In order to be able to distinguish, marks should be made on the Dharma robes, which means that in order to prevent people who are similar to each other from being confused with this (Dharma robe), marks should be made with colored dots on the edge of the Dharma robe. The text here says, "Bhikkhus, you should make marks on the clothes of Bhikkhu Mizi, so that you can know that this is Mizi, this is the Blessed One." Making marks on those refers to making marks on those Dharma robes. The ink dot is that, which means that the mark means that three ink dots should be made on the edge of the Dharma robe, which is its synonym. Also, Long means to add to the Dharma robe. This is not a mark made to avoid confusion, but when doing color work, Wangbu is used to fix the edge of Zanta. This is the situation that was mentioned before. In order to add to the Zanta of the clothes, adding Tagu to the edge of the clothes is called Long. The ends of Kacha and Pengcha should be Rangcha, which means that the remaining parts of the clothes Kacha and Pengcha after cutting should be Rangcha, for example, like doing it at the end of a face cloth, rolling up the edge and sewing is called Rangcha. Those that are not Sanggye, it is not certain to bless them after cutting, which means those that are not Sanggye, other upper and lower garments. After cutting and sewing, blessing becomes the Dharma robe itself. Therefore, it should be known that the ritual of determining blessing after cutting is only for Sanggye. For other Dharma robes, this ritual is not certain. Therefore, if there are situations such as the loss of Dharma robes or the burning of Dharma robes, then for Sanggye, the ritual of blessing and becoming the Dharma robe itself after cutting and sewing is also uncertain. If this situation does not occur, then for Sanggye, the ritual of blessing and becoming the Dharma robe itself after cutting and sewing is necessary. For other Dharma robes, even if this situation does not occur, this ritual is not certain. It is explained here that for Dharma robes other than Sanggye, upper and lower garments, there is a ritual of blessing and becoming the Dharma robe itself after cutting and sewing.

That is not certain; it is the ritual for entering as one pleases. For the monastic skirt, if such conditions exist, then bless the uncut one. If such conditions do not exist, then it is certain that only the cut one should be blessed. To accomplish this rule, here the question is: Bhikshu, is it permissible to bless an uncut Dharma garment? The attendant (Ananda) said it is not permissible. If such conditions exist, then it is permissible, so it is said. How can that be a basis? Like this, here the Dharma garment that is spoken of is because it is completely determined to be the monastic skirt. What is revealed there? Like this, the upper garment and the lower skirt, whichever is uncut, can perfect the appearance, and it does not harm the appearance of the renunciant. Therefore, here, those two are used to refer to the remaining monastic skirt, calling it the Dharma garment. The scriptures also say that the Dharma garment spoken of here is the monastic skirt. As it says in the Mother Sutra: The monastic skirt needs to be sewn; the upper garment is not certain; the lower skirt is also not certain. Without such conditions, the uncut one should not enter other villages and houses, nor should one reside there. The meaning of "without such conditions" is: Under what conditions is it permissible to enter other villages and houses without the monastic skirt, and to reside there? For example, when being with a Bhikshu, a place with doors, raining, fearing rain, the path to be traveled being blocked by a river, and so on, if such conditions do not exist, without permission and without spreading a mat, one should not go anywhere without the monastic skirt. Just as it was previously said when distinguishing the categories of abandonment, without those conditions, the uncut monastic skirt should not enter other villages and houses, nor should one reside there. Similarly, here the question is: Bhikshu, what causes and conditions are needed for placing the monastic skirt? The Bhagavan taught: Attendant (Ananda), there are five, what are the five? Being with a Bhikshu, a place with doors, raining, fearing rain, wanting to go to another village blocked by a river, a place with a mat spread, and the matter of supplication is the fifth, so it is said.
