It should be put in. If you don't know, you shouldn't accept even if they are of the same sect. This means that if you don't understand the details, even if they are of the same sect, that is, their behavior is the same as Brahma, you shouldn't accept them into your own residence. Moreover, you shouldn't accept those who are not of the same sect. If you are entrusted to "close the door, don't give when searching, and stop when taking," but you break your promise, or say "this is my friend" and other words, and induce with words, causing the loss of items, then you should compensate. This means that if a monk householder says to another monk, "Close the door of this residence, here I have an agreement with someone," and instructs, "Don't let anyone in, if you are looking for my or someone else's items, don't give them; if you take them without permission, stop them," and that monk also agrees to these words, but then breaks his promise, the door is not closed, he gives when searching, and he does not stop when taking, causing the monk householder's items to be lost, then that monk should compensate for the value of the lost items. In addition, if another monk leads a person to the monk householder's residence and says, "This is my friend, if he enters here, please close the door, please give when searching, please don't stop when taking," and induces with these words, causing the monk householder's items to be lost, then that monk should compensate for the value of the lost items. These two situations, whether permanent or sudden, should be regarded as having no difference. One should rely on trust, which means that everything, such as the bowl and robe, should rely on trust. If someone asks, "How to rely on it?", then say, "Therefore, distinguishing the differences that others do not know is the method." Distinguishing the differences that others do not know is a method to test whether the words spoken are true or false. Here it is instructed: If someone is not trustworthy, such as a certain benefactor giving a robe and bowl, etc.

If it is said, 'Please bless me.' Then, for those who do not believe, do not bless them rashly, but examine whether it is true or false by observing what signs of ignorance they have. If the signs do not match and they do not believe, then do not bless them. If the signs match and they believe, then bless them. 'If the object to be given falls' means: If the object to be given cannot be held by the giver, and falls into water or the like before it reaches the hands of the receiver, then the giver should compensate. 'If it is discarded without being taken' means: If the object to be given is not taken by the one to whom it should be given, and the giver discards it, then the giver should compensate. If the receiver takes the object and then discards it, then at that time the giver should not compensate, but the receiver should compensate. Therefore, at the time of giving and receiving, in order not to be careless about this, one should ask, saying, in order to prevent carelessness such as loss or falling at the time of giving and receiving, one should ask with words such as 'Did you get it? Or did you not get it?' If, when asked, the answer is: 'I got it,' then at that time, the loss or falling of the object that was taken is what the receiver should compensate. If, when the answer is: 'I did not get it,' the object to be given is lost or falls, then at that time it is the giver who should compensate. 'If an object that has been defiled and become unsuitable cannot be restored to its original state by washing, etc., then the value should be compensated' means: If an object that has been defiled becomes unsuitable because it is unclean, and the owner's mind cannot be restored by washing, etc., then at that time, the one who defiled it should compensate its value. The incidental matters end here. Fifty-fourth fascicle. 'One should be greeted by someone who knows the situation,' for what is said, how should one be greeted? Therefore, one should take the begging bowl and Dharma robes, one should spread a mat, one should entertain with washing the feet, saying, these and those that will appear below.
