For those (bhikshus) who do not possess mindfulness and do not abide naturally, one should not rely on needles and awls. To prevent needles and awls from rusting, they should be placed in cloth smeared with beeswax. This means that to prevent needles and awls from being corroded by rust, they should be placed in cloth smeared with beeswax. The context here is about the needles of the bhikshus rusting. The Blessed One taught, "Cloth should be smeared with beeswax, and the needle should be wrapped around it and placed there." Some say, "Needles and awls should be placed." To prevent (the robes) from slipping, a fastener should be made on the Dharma robe, and a clasp should be attached there. A fastener means: as a support for the clasp, a square patch is sewn onto the Dharma robe. A clasp means: a string for holding. A clasp is also the same, to prevent (the robes) from slipping, a fastener should be made on the Dharma robe and attached. A clasp means a string for holding. The text says: One should not have the launderer wash reversed garments or unfinished garments. The context is about the Group of Six having the launderers wash the garments. The Blessed One taught, "Bhikshus should not have the launderers wash soiled garments; they should wash them themselves in a smooth basin." The Group of Six had the launderers wash white garments. The Blessed One taught, "Therefore, a bhikshu should not have the launderer wash garments in any circumstance." "Do not do it yourself in the same way" means: a bhikshu should not wash in the same way as the launderer, this is to avoid undesirable actions such as beating. "Do not do it on that side" means: do not wash on the launderer's side. "Do not do it on the surface of the wood" means: do not wash the garment. The text "One should wash in a smooth basin" means: one should wash oneself in a smooth basin.

Thus it is said. The so-called "using water appropriately" means neither too hot nor too cold, which is to explain the method of removing dirt. The so-called "gradually stirring with both hands" means to gradually stir and wash with both hands. The so-called "if unable, then use both feet" means that if the hands are unable, then wash with both feet. The so-called "thus householders can also wash" means that as the ritual of washing oneself is explained, householders can also wash in this way. The so-called "behavior other than this should be guarded" means that apart from what is said in the ritual, monks should guard against the misconduct of householders. Here the scripture says that if others cannot do it with their hands, nor with their feet, the Blessed One instructed that they should be informed and washed by others. The so-called "hand towels should be well washed, mended, and turned inside out before carrying" means that hand towels should be well washed, well mended, and well turned inside out before carrying. Here the scripture says that monks should not carry hand towels stained with impurities. If they carry them, they commit an offense. Hand towels should be well washed, well mended, and well turned inside out before carrying, as it is said. The so-called "one should not carry robes stained with impurities" should be connected to "however, one should wash them well before carrying." The scripture saying "in order to make the color good, it should be beaten and dried in alternating shade and sunlight" is, in the "Foundation of Training on Separating Seats," it says: "Take the color of Pippala, it should be repeatedly beaten, dried, and boiled." Beating and drying the color, and doing it in alternating shade and sunlight, if changed, it will be damaged. Mentioning Pippala is an example of other colors. The so-called "boiling without putting in clothes" means that clothes should not be put into the color to boil. The so-called "less than three differences" should be connected to "boiling." Because less than three differences

Because it needs to be boiled. If you want more, you have to do it three times, which means that more is more. If you want more, you have to boil it three times. The latter is the worst, which means that the latter boiled is the worst compared to the first boiled. Therefore, they should be placed separately, which means that because the latter is the worst, the boiled (dyes) should be poured into different containers. This is the first, etc., write letters, which means, this is the first color, this is the second, this is the third, in order to fully know the first, etc., the boiled colors, write letters on the top of the container. Mix with the first before, which means, mix the first boiled color with the clothes before. Smear all over the clothes, which means, in order to dye the color well, mix the color with the clothes that are completely smeared with color. Take out as much as is suitable from it and pour it into the basin, which means, take out as much as can thin the clothes from the boiled color and pour it into the basin. If it is too wet, it will drip, if it is too dry, it will stick, so it should be appropriate, which means that if the thinned amount is too wet, it will drip from the clothes, if it is too dry, the clothes will stick, so pour in an appropriate amount. It is best to dry it on a stretched line, which means that it is best to dry it on a stretched line. If you ask why, it is because the edges will stick together, which means that the edges will stick together. If you ask how to make the edges stick together, it is because of the rods, which is what it says. The (clothes) that are difficult to grasp should be laid on the grass, which means that the clothes that are difficult to grasp with rods should be laid on the grass to dry. In order to prevent the color from only dyeing on one side, it should be turned over repeatedly, which means that in order to spread the color all over the clothes, the clothes should be turned over repeatedly, so that it will not only dye on one side. It is best to pour bright colors on bright (clothes), which means that bright colors should be poured on bright clothes.
