It is said that if the deceased had an attendant, then the six belongings of the deceased are controlled by that attendant. Therefore, monks should not bless them. The six belongings are three robes, a mat, a bowl, and a water strainer. The phrase "to be given from the best, middle, and lowest" means that it should be connected to "controlled by them." That is, for the attendant, some of the six belongings should be given from the best belongings of a monk and the best living supplies, some from the middle, and some from the lowest. The phrase "if there are many, then it is shared" means that if there are two, three, or many attendants, then these six belongings are shared by them. The phrase "having gone for his sake, even if the patient dies, it should be given" means that if the attendant has gone elsewhere for the sake of that patient, even if the patient dies later, the six belongings should still be given. If the attendant has gone elsewhere for the sake of the patient, then the six belongings should be given, and not to others. This is the conclusion. The phrase "to one who does not control the property, it is not given" means that the six belongings are not given to a servant such as a householder who does not control the property of the deceased. Here, if the patron is a monk, a servant, or a householder, should the servant be given a Dharma robe? It should not be given. Similarly, it is not given to a sick-attending nun, a female novice, or a female trainee. This is extensively explained. Where there are only those with different vows and no one with the same vows, it should also be given to those with different vows, because they control these. The phrase "to one who has vowed to stay elsewhere, one should not not give" means that for an attendant who has vowed to stay elsewhere, one should not not give the six belongings, but should give them, because vowing to stay elsewhere is not a reason for not giving. The phrase "for one who has not taken full ordination, everything is controlled by them" means that in this situation of distributing the belongings of the deceased, one who has not taken full ordination controls all of their respective shares equally with those who have taken full ordination.
