My time is not right, do not take it out. The time to take it out is after performing the Posadha on the fifteenth day of the first spring month, and take it out on that very day. If the permanent residents end the rainy season retreat in the middle autumn month, and on the sixteenth of the middle autumn month, a hard mat is laid out, and most of the monks, newly arrived permanent residents, come there and say: Today is the fifteenth Posadha. Because of the time, one should follow the majority, so on the day when the hard mat is laid out there, if the permanent residents do the Posadha, how should they do it? Therefore, if they do the Posadha again, it is the same as taking it out. By saying this, it also distinguishes it from the situation where others take it out and one does not participate. Like this, if one thinks that today is the day of Posadha and does the Posadha again, the laying of the hard mat will happen naturally. Like this, we think that we have laid the hard mat at an inappropriate time, because the thought of not depending on it has arisen. Again, the hard mat should be laid out on the second day, because at that time the thought of the sixteenth of the middle autumn month has arisen. Doing the auspicious Posadha on that day will not be a mistake here, because at that time there is no thought of laying it out at an inappropriate time. After laying it out, for the multitude of people, it is accomplished separately. It means that after laying out the hard mat, if the Sangha under it becomes a multitude of people, then for those monks, the taking out of the hard mat is accomplished separately. After one side takes it out, the other side must also take it out, because there is only one mat on it, so do not think that the other side has also taken it out. The Dharma speaker has enemies, so lay it out. It means that in a place where one has promised to observe the summer retreat, or after ending the retreat, if the Sangha becomes a multitude of people, and there are Dharma speakers and also non-Dharma speakers, then the side with the Dharma speakers should lay out that hard mat, take it out, and fully extend it. Here, the scripture is: When the Sangha observing the summer retreat is numerous, who should lay out the hard mat? It is laid out by the Dharma speakers. And,

Furthermore, if a Bhikkhu or Brahmin's daughter asks, 'If the Sangha dwells separately, who should spread the beds and seats?' It is the expounder of the Dharma. Because the expounder of the Dharma has the authority, therefore, in all places, it should not be that spreading is not allowed, hence it is said thus. There, even if it is done by others, the benefit of the dwelling place should only belong to them. That is to say, in this place, this benefit should be given to the Bhikkhu who dwells here at this time. If one dwells in such a manner, the benefit arising from the cause of dwelling, whatever is given to the Sangha of Bhikkhus, whatever is the benefit of the dwelling place, even if the beds and seats are spread by other non-Dharma speakers, the benefit arising from the cause of the dwelling place, whatever arises until the end of the middle autumn month, should only belong to those Dharma speakers, and should not belong to the non-Dharma speakers, because they dwell in a different place. Saying 'the benefit of the dwelling place' is to cut off other benefits. Therefore, whatever benefit arises from the cause of spreading the beds and seats should only belong to everyone. In a dwelling place that is naturally abiding, it does not arise for those who abandon it, that is to say, in a dwelling place that is naturally abiding, whoever spreads the beds and seats, it does not arise for those who abandon it, that is the general meaning of these. Abiding with thought is spreading. That is to say, thinking that from this my gain and benefit will arise, thus thinking and engaging in seeking, is the nature of spreading beds and seats. In doing things together, due to offering intention, if it is done by others, it is indeed done, that is to say, abiding with thought is spreading, and being separated from this is removing. Therefore, whatever is done together with others, whatever is done by the remaining Bhikkhus who have received the intention of the Sangha, because the one who offers intention also offers intention, it is indeed done. Being separated from this is removing, that is to say, being separated from abiding with thought is removing the beds and seats. Therefore, for one who has not offered intention, even if one is already seated, if one sleeps or enters into Samadhi, until one hears, spreading and removing do not arise, that is to say, for what reason, abiding with thought is
