Furthermore, regarding the manner of sitting, one should not sit as if placing bamboo poles one on top of another on the mat. One should not curl up the feet. One should not spread the feet apart. "Not showing the buttocks" means that one should not sit with the thighs, calves, or feet, or all of them, directly spread apart. "Not leaning the cheek on the hand" means one should not sit on the seat in an indecent posture. "Not turning the seat around" means one should not leave with the seat one is sitting on turned backwards. One should always receive food well, not only in the village but also elsewhere. Regarding "not filling the mouth and the edge of the container," here "mouth" refers to the edge of the container, and one should not fill the mouth and the edge of the container in any way. One should leave a little space, and not fill it from the edge of the mouth to the fullness of the thumb. This is not a description of the capacity of the alms bowl, but a description of the amount of food to be received. "Not like a sample" means one should not take as much food as a sample, and one should not receive food in that way. Here, "sample" is an example of all actions. What is to be prohibited here is not the extent to which the sample fills the mouth and the edge of the container, because filling the mouth and the edge of the container has already been prohibited. Because all food that should be eaten is considered to be begged for, taking a sample that exceeds the amount one needs is prohibited. Similarly, the scripture here says that if one takes or eats more than what is needed to sustain oneself from the mother, even if it is only a mouthful, it is said to be wasting the offerings of the faithful. If one cannot control the amount, or cannot refuse, and the benefactor insists on giving, or one accepts out of compassion, then one may take more rice and other food, thinking of giving it to others or anyone, and one should know that there is no transgression in this. "In order" means one should receive food in order according to the order of the seats. Here, it is in order of age.

Regarding seating, it should be arranged according to the order of the seats. Even if not seated according to seniority, food should be distributed according to the order of seating, not seniority. For cases where elders are seated later, food should not be distributed over them. This is to avoid the fault of the past, where the Six Groups of monks, when eating, did not immediately distribute food to newcomers, causing them to go to the back, make loud noises, and the distribution of food became chaotic. The so-called "looking at the bowl" means to understand the vessel and receive food. Which monk has the awareness of looking at the bowl, he is the one who looks at the bowl. Here, "looking at the bowl" means looking with the mind, not with the eyes. Therefore, one should connect with the bowl with the mind and receive food well. From the source of the word, it is already forbidden, like looking at a yoke. The so-called "do not hold the bowl before preparation and eating" means that one should learn not to hold the bowl until the preparation and eating have not yet arrived. The so-called "do not cover vegetables with rice or rice with vegetables out of greed" means that one should learn not to cover vegetables with rice or rice with vegetables with the intention of getting more food. The so-called "do not place on top" means do not place the bowl on top of the prepared food. Now, I will explain the order of the six good deeds regarding food, as well as the five behaviors such as "tsk tsk", the five behaviors of distinguishing grains, and the five behaviors of licking hands. The so-called "eat food well" is like the outline of the five chapters below. The so-called "do not eat too small food", here "food" refers to something that is put in the mouth, reaches a certain amount, and then disappears, hence it is called "food". One should learn not to eat too small food. The so-called "do not eat too large food" means that one should also learn not to eat too large food. The so-called "eat food in moderation" means that one should eat food in moderation that is suitable for oneself and the world. The so-called "do not open your mouth before finishing the food" means before the food has approached the mouth,
