It is said that this is limited to places where there is no danger. The very phrase "except for the dangerous areas of the village" indicates that where no boundary is demarcated, there is no permission to leave that place. Because the area where no boundary is demarcated is outside the boundary, it is permissible to leave outside the boundary. If the demarcated boundary is broken, then (the permission not to leave the robes) will also be broken, which is the final conclusion. Therefore, "will not be broken" means that the permission not to leave is broken, but it does not break the demarcated boundary. Because demarcating the boundary is the place, and obtaining permission not to leave is the resident. If the place is destroyed, then the resident should also be destroyed, but the destruction of the resident does not lead to the destruction of the place. Sweeping should be done in stupas, temples, spacious rooms, courtyards, and places of practice. Here, the scripture says that at the mother's (Ma mo) place, during the fifteenth practice, one should get up early and sweep the stupas, temples, and spacious rooms. It is also said that the courtyards and places of practice should be swept. Here, sweeping means sweeping places the size of houses, corridors, or ponds. Offering intentions to the Sangha is equivalent to having already offered, meaning that a sick bhikkhu, etc., offering intentions, etc., to the Sangha is actually counted as an offering. The scripture here is: If a bhikkhu offers intentions and complete purity to all the assembled Sangha, should it be said that intentions and complete purity have been offered, or that the attendant has been offered? Either way, it should be said. It means that although intentions, etc., have been publicly offered to the Sangha by offering intentions, etc., any person in the Sangha should state the intentions, etc., to the Sangha, which is to protect the establishment of the Dharma. For all unfinished matters, intentions, etc., should also be stated, and even if they have been completed, it should be done. Volume Four.

The eighteenth, residing outside the boundary, therefore one should not offer or deliver it, meaning: A person residing outside the boundary should not offer intentions, etc., to the Sangha, nor should the receiver deliver it. This is an explanation of "should not gather." Because a person residing in another boundary is in no way a limb, so saying this itself is not gathering. Should not be done through transmission, it should be combined with offering and delivering. The receiver will definitely offer it to others, but offering it to another person is transmission, such as letters, etc. Offering due to reasons other than fear of illness, powerlessness, life, and obstacles to pure conduct is a misdeed. Meaning: A person other than one who fears illness, powerlessness, obstacles to life, and obstacles to pure conduct, who does not gather himself in the Sangha and offers intentions, etc., will commit a misdeed, but offering without gathering is not the case. Here, mentioning powerlessness includes even being controlled by friends. Mentioning obstacles includes harm from kings and thieves, etc. What is meant here by obstacles to pure conduct is not only losing the objects of a Bhikshu, but also any obstacles in the aspect of virtue that arise merely from experiencing faults should also be regarded as obstacles to pure conduct, because just these will harm the collection of pure conduct. Therefore, even if it is only because of obstacles in the aspect of virtue, it is shown here that one can offer intentions, etc. If one does not speak, it is due to disrespect, meaning: If the receiver accepts intentions, etc., and does not tell the Sangha, then he will commit a misdeed by following the downfall of disrespect. If he brings it from outside the boundary because of fear, there is no fault, meaning: The person who accepts intentions, etc., from the boundary

After taking desires etc. from within, there is no fault in taking desires etc. from outside the boundary due to the fear caused by the obstacles to celibacy, and bringing them into the Sangha. The preceptor distributes wooden pieces during the Uposatha, saying that the monks should be counted, which means: The preceptor distributes wooden pieces on the day of the Uposatha to count the monks, in order to fully know who has come and who has not. Reciting well, without even a half-syllable mistake, means: Uposatha should be performed by reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra well. How is it considered reciting well? It is when there is not even a half-syllable mistake. Whoever does not make even a half-syllable mistake is considered to have recited well, and should be used to recite it, this is the concluding statement. Here, the word "Uposatha" refers to the Pratimoksha Sutra. How does reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra accomplish the Uposatha? Because the Uposatha is not something to be recited, therefore reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra is equivalent to reciting the Uposatha. Thus, if there is not even a half-syllable mistake, it is considered reciting well, and that person should be used to recite the Pratimoksha Sutra, otherwise it is not, otherwise it will become a Dukkrta offense. Whose duty is it to recite? Therefore, it is said that it is the duty of the Sangha's elder. Reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra is the duty of the Sangha's elder. If he is not capable, it is the duty of the second one. If the Sangha's elder is not capable of reciting, then the recitation is the duty of the second elder. If he is also not capable, it is the duty of the third one. If the second one is also not capable, then the recitation is the duty of the third elder. If he is also not capable, then everyone should recite in turns. If the third elder is also not capable, then all the Sangha members should recite in turns. If one is not capable, one should entrust it to another. If one cannot recite when it is one's turn, one should entrust the recitation to another. If one entrusts it to an individual and he is not capable, then it should be done by the Sangha.
