One should arrange a dwelling. The saying, "One day should not be done on purpose," means that if one comes suddenly, one should not arrange a dwelling specifically for the purpose of staying for one day. The saying, "If the dwelling is not nearby, one should inform others," means that the resident should inform other monks. When should one inform? When it is not nearby, that is, when it is not within the range of activity. Who should inform? The resident. If one should say "dwelling," then how should one say "resident"? There is no fault, one can take "dwelling" as a word for "the act of dwelling," not as "the agent of dwelling," because whatever is suitable for dwelling, one dwells and accepts dwelling. Therefore, the word "resident" should be understood as "dwelling" itself. Thus, this meaning arises here, that if there is no dwelling, one should inform other monks, which is a summary statement. In order to explain the objects excluded by the related regulations such as "one should not act without informing the dwelling," if one is assigned to do something and leaves, and then other things happen, even if one does not inform, there is no fault. The saying, "assigned to do something and leaves," means leaving for that reason, that is, the resident leaves because he is assigned to do something. The saying, "then other things happen," means that other things that need to be done happen, and in order to accomplish that, even if one does not inform, one should know that there is no fault. From the basis of the separate dwellings, if other things that need to be done happen to those who have gone there, then they do not need to come back and inform again, they can directly do that thing, because their previous informing is also considered informing. If one says, "One should arrange a dwelling," then is it okay to arrange it anywhere? Therefore, it is said, "One should not arrange it just anywhere," referring to arranging a dwelling. Then where should one arrange it? Therefore, it is said, "Through questioning and so on, one should ascertain their discipline, wisdom, and benefit to the Sangha, and then choose that place," the word "and so on" in "through questioning and so on" also includes all actions such as bodily actions. Through these means, one should ascertain all of the discipline, wisdom, and benefit to the Sangha of the person giving the dwelling, and then choose that dwelling. How?

Then, therefore, it is said, "Thus it is taken." For example, like the vows of a lay devotee and so on, the mantra is recited first, and the ritual is recited three times. Just as it is taken, so it is here. When it is said, "Thus it is taken," taking the vows is to be received by joining the palms. But here, in order to show that it is by other rituals, it is said, "Holding the two soles of the feet with both hands." It means that the one who relies on the place should hold the two soles of the feet of the place of reliance with both hands and be taken as a place of reliance. The place of reliance should not give reliance to everyone. Therefore, it is said, "Give after examining completely like this," which means that the one who relies on the place should give reliance after examining completely. It should be examined completely like this: Whether this person has the intention to be liberated from suffering, and whether he has respect for the precepts, etc., after examining completely. How should the place of reliance and the one who relies on the place rely on each other? Therefore, it is said, "One should generate the concept of son and father," which means that son and father are son and father. The concepts of the two are the concepts of son and father, and these concepts should be generated. Here it is shown that the place of reliance should generate the concept of son for the one who relies on the place, and the one who relies on the place should generate the concept of father for the place of reliance. This is the conclusion. If living together, is it necessary to rely on the Khenpo? Therefore, it is said, "The Khenpo is the one who relies on the place," which means: Its essence is "that," and the word "that" refers to the Khenpo. Here it is shown that if one relies on the Khenpo, then the Khenpo is the one who relies on the place. Because he is the Khenpo, it should be said that he is the place of reliance. Then how should it be said that he is the one who relies on the place? There is no fault, because here the "one who relies on the place" is shown by the cause of the action of "relying," not the agent of the action of relying. For him, by being relied upon, he becomes the one who relies on the place. Therefore, the word "the one who relies on the place" shows the reliance. Its essence is the one who relies on the place, and through the cause of the essence, it shows that he is the Khenpo. Because the Khenpo is the place of reliance, therefore one does not rely on him. Therefore, the place of the Khenpo does not rely on him. Here it is shown: Because
