If asked what is first, therefore it is said, "The one who comes first is the first." For those who ordain at the same time, in the position of assigning gains and duties, the one who comes first, that is, the one who arrives first, naturally becomes the first and the elder. Therefore, in the position of obtaining, the one who arrives first should first receive the gains, and then be appointed to duties, because he is the one who arrived first, so he is the elder. As the Bhagavan said, "Gains should be received according to the order of arrival." Whoever comes first, that is the order of arrival. The order of arrival is the way of arrival, and gains should be received according to the order of arrival. Being appointed to duties later is also natural, because at that time he is the elder. The one who comes later should be appointed to duties first, because at that time he is new. Therefore, it is said in the scriptures that the one who comes later should be appointed to duties first. The sutra says, "One who lives in a secluded place should not leave hair longer than two fingers." This means that a bhikshu who lives in a secluded place should not leave hair longer than the length of two fingers. Mentioning hair also includes the beard, so it is not mentioned separately. The sutra says, "One who lives on the edge of a village should not leave it less than its lower limit." The actual meaning of the lower limit is less than two fingers, that is, half of two fingers, which is two and a half fingers. Therefore, one should not leave more than the length of two and a half fingers, that is, one should not reach the length of two fingers. What is shown here is that a bhikshu who lives on the edge of a village should only shave off the hair that has not reached the length of two fingers. Here, it is also said in the scriptures, "A bhikshu who lives in a secluded place should leave hair two fingers long, and one who lives on the edge of a village should be less than that." Mentioning shaving hair at the time of ordination, through this, all the rituals of shaving hair are explained here, that is, one should not shave hair like shaving cow hair. The so-called "cow hair" refers to the hair of a cow. Like cow hair, that is like cow hair. One should not shave hair like cow hair with scissors. This is all.

If it is also forbidden, then to show the exception to that, it is said, "Except for the hair of the wound," which means that the hair of the wound should be cut with scissors. Shaving the hair knot is because the hair knot belongs to one side, so some people suspect that there is no fault in shaving the hair knot, and it is said, "It is not allowed to shave the hair knot," which means do not shave the hair knot. Fourth chapter. In order to eliminate the doubt that there is no sin in shaving the hair. It is said, "It is not allowed to shave the pubic hair," which is connected to the previous scripture "It is not allowed to do." In this way, the meaning of the words here is: the pubic area is a secret place, and it is not allowed to shave the hair. After temporarily generally prohibiting shaving pubic hair, now it should be specially allowed, if it is for the wound, and other methods cannot heal it, then one should consult the wise, elders, and elders, and allow shaving, which means: for the wound, one can shave the hair. If other methods cannot heal it, it means: if other methods such as applying medicine cannot heal the wound. In this way, the Blessed One also said that one should wash with medicine, and if it does not heal later, then one should consult the Sutra Pitaka, Vinaya Pitaka, and those who hold the Mother Pitaka, and allow shaving pubic hair, which is the basis here. Therefore, saying "wise" is to show other words. It is also not allowed to shave the hair on the buttocks for other reasons. It is said, "It is also not allowed," which is connected to "It is not allowed to shave," which means it is also not allowed to shave the hair on the buttocks. If you ask: Is it not allowed to shave in any case? It is said, "Not for that reason," which means: it is not allowed to shave if it is not for the wound, and it is only allowed to shave for the wound. Prohibiting shaving the hair on the buttocks, some people suspect whether it is possible to shave the hair on other parts of the body, it is said, "Other parts of the body are also not allowed," which means: the body other than the pubic area and buttocks, refers to the lower body below the throat, and it is also not allowed to shave the hair there if it is not for the wound. Here, in the treatise of the Mother Pitaka, hair and beard
