There is no downfall in going with the thought of not letting go. This is a specific exception to what was said earlier, "A mistake was made in front." Here, if one starts praying from a request, goes to the place of defecation or urination, and does not speak to the residing monks, nor completely lets go of the danger of hearing, then there is no downfall. If one lets go, it will only become a fundamental offense, it is said. Not speaking and going is a cause of downfall, it has been said. To whom does it become a cause of downfall in a disrespectful manner? Therefore, for sitting, walking, dwelling, taking monasteries, speaking, etc., disrespectfully towards the matter of admonishment, without confessing in accordance with the Dharma, but opposing, that is, contradicting, it is said. The monastic community of monks, for sitting, walking, taking dwellings, taking monasteries, speaking, etc., disrespectfully towards the matter of admonishment, without confessing in accordance with the Dharma, but opposing, not sitting, not walking, not taking dwellings, not taking monasteries, not speaking, etc., violating and transgressing, will cause an offense here. The word "etc." is said to include the remaining matters. The two words "disrespectfully" and "without confessing in accordance with the Dharma" are to show that they are not confused with each other. For example, if one says "speak," because one is very weak, one cannot speak at all, and sits without saying anything, and does not confess in accordance with the Dharma, then there is no disrespect. If one confesses in accordance with the Dharma with harsh words, then there is disrespect, therefore, for whom both of these exist, then it will completely become an offense, and for whom neither exists, that is a mistake. How does it become a downfall for someone who violates the matter of admonishment? Therefore, the monastic community of monks is the fundamental offense, it is said. Violating the matter of admonishment by the monastic community of monks will become a fundamental offense. For the Khenpo and Acharya, it is a mistake, because they admonish.

To act contrary to its meaning results in an offense of wrong-doing. The phrase "also from a non-dharmic admonition" means that violating an admonition that is not in accordance with the Dharma by the Sangha of monks also results in an offense of wrong-doing. Here, the text states that in questioning, if venerable monks are establishing a Dharma-related discourse, is it possible to interrupt and not incur a downfall? Yes, it is possible. For example, if venerable monks speak of what is not Dharma, and new monks speak of the Dharma, interrupting them would result in an offense of wrong-doing. The phrase "interrupting is just that" means that interrupting while others are establishing a Dharma-related discourse is a violation of the Sangha's admonition and results in a downfall. Here, the text refers to the son of the elephant stable owner, saying that one should not be verbose, disrespectful, or think of refuting, and so on. This text is similar to the text of the questioning, where new monks speaking of what is not Dharma interrupt the venerable Dharma speakers, resulting in a downfall. The phrase "the Sangha's spokesperson is its mouth" means that the Sangha's spokesperson is the mouth of the Sangha, and the admonition given by the Sangha's spokesperson is not the same as the Sangha giving the admonition itself. The phrase "the Buddha is like the Sangha" means that the complete accumulation of faults from disrespecting the Buddha is similar to that of the Sangha. At the time of violating the precepts, if one says, "His words are unnecessary, what is the use of this?" and so on, generating disrespect towards the Buddha Bhagavan results in a downfall. If one says about the precepts, "What is the use of this little bit or bad aspect?" and so on, generating disrespect towards the precepts results in an offense of wrong-doing. One should not disrupt the words of kings, Arhats, and venerable members of the Sangha. Here, the text states that one should not alter the words of Shariputra and the five others.
