If one leaves without informing others, will it be a transgression? Therefore, it is said in the sutra that when monks gather to engage in activities such as making requests, they should inform other monks before leaving. The so-called "engaging in activities such as making requests" refers to only making requests, making requests and twice, making requests and four times of karma, that is, self-indulgence, posadha, etc., which refers to requests that rely on the ordained, etc., but not others. The so-called "gathering" refers to a monk who enters the Sangha assembly. The so-called "leaving without asking the monk" means that if a monk in the assembly leaves his seat without informing the monks around him due to temporary affairs, etc., he will commit a transgression. Here, informing the monk is not to keep him to participate in the Sangha affairs, but to accomplish harmony, similar to offering intention. How far away will it constitute a violation? Therefore, it is said in the sutra that if one goes beyond the range of hearing, it constitutes a fundamental crime. If one goes beyond the range of hearing, then that monk constitutes a fundamental crime. The so-called "committing a mistake in front" means that before going beyond the range of hearing, one will commit a minor offense. The so-called "leaving meaninglessly and unreasonably" means that there is no need, and leaving in an unreasonable way. If one leaves after informing the monk, one will also commit a minor offense. The so-called "only making a request" means that even if one goes beyond the range of hearing, one will only commit a minor offense. Here, the sutra says that if a monk is speaking and a monk gets up and leaves, even if the monks who do not leave are not informed, what crime will be committed? The sutra says that those nearby will commit a minor offense. The so-called "the same is true for activities that do not conform to the Dharma" means that if one goes beyond the range of hearing without informing others, one will only commit a minor offense. Therefore, for these three sutras, it should be known that in the case of fundamental crimes, minor offenses will be committed. Here, the sutra says that in some requests, if one leaves when engaging in activities that do not conform to the Dharma, one will commit a minor offense. The so-called "if one hopes not to go beyond the range of hearing, there is no transgression" means within the entire range of hearing.
