Do. The second day, staying there and eating, it was said thus: Staying there and eating there, for the one who stays there, it is a minor offense. For the one who eats, it will become a downfall. This is what was said. That was said in reference to the second day. If asked, what is revealed? In the Pratimoksha Sutra, it says that a monk who spends the night in one dwelling, if not ill, should eat one alms bowl of food. If he eats more than that, he commits a downfall. Even if one limb is missing, if he eats food from that dwelling, then the one who eats is the perpetrator of a minor offense. 'Even without an owner' means that for all the unusual dwellings that are not of this Dharma, even if there is no owner, he is the perpetrator of a minor offense. 'For this person, the ordained one is just like a heretic' means that in this training ground, this ordained one, being the owner of the dwelling, is just like a heretic being the owner of the dwelling. Whichever of the two is the owner, it should be known that the dwelling is the perpetrator of a minor offense. It is taught thus: Just as the dwelling of a heretic ordained one who is the owner is the perpetrator of a minor offense, so too this ordained one is the owner, and all unusual dwellings are also the perpetrators of a minor offense. Here, the text says that if a monk, an ordained one, is allowed to dwell in a dwelling, and the monk stays there for more than one day and seeks more than one alms bowl of food, what offense does he commit? It is a minor offense. 'Relatives too' is also connected to the statement 'just like a heretic', the dwelling that the monk had built by relatives, the relatives are the owners, and there, all unusual things, if he stays for more than one day and eats more than one portion of food, it is a minor offense. Here, the text says, if the owner allows relatives to build, what offense is committed? It is a minor offense. Venerable, if a monk begs for alms from elsewhere and comes to the dwelling to eat, what offense is committed? It is a minor offense. Venerable, if a monk has other food and drink besides what should be eaten,

If one desires to suck, lick, or lap, what offense is committed? (Answer:) One commits a duskrta offense. The term "things to be eaten" refers to the five types of food, such as rice. The explanation of "eating in a dwelling place leads to a downfall" is now complete. Now, intending to speak of the downfall of receiving more than three alms bowls, the phrase "forced" is stated, meaning that a householder is the perpetrator of this downfall of forced almsgiving. If asked, what kind of householder is the perpetrator of this almsgiving? Therefore, "forced" is said, meaning that if that householder forces that bhikshu with alms, then that forcing householder is the perpetrator of the almsgiving. If asked, how does one force? Therefore, "not fully estimated" is said, meaning that without fully determining the amount in the alms bowl, one forces the almsgiving. If one gives after fully determining the amount, then if there is a need in accordance with the Dharma, there is no fault even if one takes a hundred alms bowls. If asked, is every forced and not fully estimated almsgiving by a householder the perpetrator? Therefore, "not done as one pleases" is said, meaning that whoever has not done as one pleases is the one who has not done as one pleases, and he is the perpetrator. If it is done as one pleases, there is no fault. If asked, is the almsgiving forced by a renunciant also the perpetrator? Therefore, "of a householder" is said, meaning the almsgiving forced by a householder. If asked, how much almsgiving is the perpetrator? Therefore, "the measure of small breaus, that is, alms exceeding the amount of rice porridge cooked with five and a half Magadha small breaus, excluding vegetables, including the share of friends," meaning that alms exceeding the amount of rice porridge cooked with five and a half Magadha small breaus of dry rice, excluding vegetables, is the perpetrator. If asked, what is the measure of the small breau of that excess almsgiving? Therefore, "rice porridge cooked with five and a half Magadha small breaus" is said, meaning rice porridge cooked with five and a half Magadha small breaus of dry rice. If asked, how much rice is in a Magadha small breau?
