Even when invited, it is especially allowed to add more. It is taught thus: even if invited, it is allowed to add more. Here, the scripture is like this: When many monks are invited to another's house as guests, A bhikkhuni comes there and asks: Which monks have you invited? They answer: So-and-so and so-and-so. She asks: What kind of food are you offering? They answer: We are offering food that increases threefold. The bhikkhuni says: That is not right, those monks are stream-enterers, you should offer them coarse flour, etc. Thus it is said. Therefore, even if invited, one should not eat what is added if it is not according to the donor's intention, for eating it is a transgression. If asked: What is it that is allowed to be added? Therefore it is said: It is to be eaten, such as rice, etc. If it is said: Because of qualities that are not genuine. If asked: What kind of qualities are genuine? Therefore it is said: Because of perfect accomplishment. Perfect accomplishment is the completion of perfect accomplishment, it is because of that. The term "accomplishment" includes everything from discipline up to arhatship. If it is said: Even hearing is acceptable. It means that if it is hearing that has become a means for perfect accomplishment, even if one adds because of that, there is no fault. If one adds through dancing, music, singing, scholars, and other such things, one should know that this is a transgression committed by following the former. There are two kinds of alms that are allowed to be added: adding through discipline and adding through hearing. They are in the same order as the previous two sutras. If asked: If one follows, who is the one who makes what is to be eaten? Therefore it is said: If one eats. In order to show the nature of eating, therefore it is said: It is when one swallows that it is. It means that eating is truly eating when one swallows it, it is not merely putting it in the mouth. If it is said: For the sake of others, it is to be reproached. It means that adding for the sake of others is to be reproached. Because it is reproached, it is to be reproached, its substance is that.

That is how it is. Thus it is taught: If a bhikṣuṇī gives food for the sake of another, and another bhikṣu eats it, he commits a transgression. Here, the text states that if one knowingly eats food that has been given for the sake of another, other than by request, one commits a transgression. It is said that if a bhikṣu does not know that it was given by a bhikṣuṇī, and eats what was given by a bhikṣuṇī, there is no transgression. It is also the same when entering for alms, saying "Please give." That is to say, when a bhikṣu enters for alms, if a bhikṣuṇī says, "Please give alms to this bhikṣu," and the bhikṣu takes and eats it, he also commits a transgression. Here, the text states that if a bhikṣu is entering for alms, and a bhikṣuṇī says to a householder, "Please give alms to this bhikṣu," and that bhikṣu takes and eats it, what transgression would be committed? He would commit a transgression, it is said. The section on committing a transgression by giving food by a bhikṣuṇī has been explained. Now, intending to speak about the transgression of eating repeatedly, it is said, "One should accept being invited to eat at another's house." A bhikṣu should accept being invited to eat at another's house and consider it his own. The word "also" indicates that it is not limited to the monastery, but also includes other houses. One should know the time and not enter too early. That is to say, if one is invited to eat at another's house and accepts, one should know the time for the meal and not go too early. Therefore, the gaṇḍī should be struck, and one should look after one's own retinue. That is to say, because one is invited to eat at another's house, when the time comes, the gaṇḍī should be struck, and the elders should look after their respective retinues. For those who come suddenly, the elders are responsible. That is to say, for those bhikṣus who come suddenly, the elders of the sangha are responsible. Here, the text states that the bhikṣu's retinue and attendants should look after their respective retinues and go together. For a bhikṣu who comes suddenly,
