Therefore, when asked, "Have you seen the one to be killed?" one can temporarily say, "Let me warm myself by the fire for a moment, let me drink some water, let me rest for a moment, I see the sky, I see the fingernails." If one truly has not seen the sentient being or the one to be killed, saying "I have not seen" does not constitute a downfall. This passage indicates that the statement will turn into suffering. Seeing the one to be killed is seeing the one to be killed. When asked, "Have you seen it?" it means: If the executioners ask the bhikshu, "Have you seen the one to be killed?" Even if the bhikshu has seen it, he should say, "Let me warm myself by the fire for a moment," and so on, saying something else. If one truly has not seen the sentient being or the one to be killed, it means: not having seen the sentient being fabricated by the heretics. If one thinks in this way, and truly has not seen that kind of sight, then there is no downfall. One should not rely on places where 'the four great ones' must be done, meaning: one should not rely on places where 'the four great ones' must be done, such as saying "Please bear witness" or "Remember." Therefore, the text here says: Therefore, a bhikshu should not dwell in strife, nor should he distinguish 'the four great ones,' he should flee far away. It is said in the sutra: If a bhikshu dwells in strife or distinguishes 'the four great ones,' he will commit a serious offense. Without closing the door of harm, one should not distinguish 'the four great ones,' meaning: one who has not closed the door of harm, such as punishment, is a bhikshu who has not closed the door of harm, and he should not distinguish 'the four great ones.' This explains: Distinguishing 'the four great ones' can lead to harm such as killing and binding. To prevent these harms, one should close the door, path, and cause of harm, that is, close the door from which the harm will arise, otherwise one should not distinguish 'the four great ones.' The downfall of 'admonishing stings the ears' has been explained. Now, wanting to speak about the downfall of dwellings, it is said that beds and low beds, cushions with fillings, blankets, pillows, and round cushions are called dwellings. Bed refers to sleeping beds and so on.

"Chair" refers to chairs like footstools. "Cushion with lining" refers to cushions filled with cotton cloth, etc. "Lava" refers to woolen clothes made of wool with hair. "Pillow" refers to pillows with lining, etc. "Round mat" refers to round mats, etc. Mentioning beds, etc., is just an example. Mules, mats, and cotton cloth, etc., are all included as components of the dwelling. These are the dwellings. Forty-nine cubits or less is called its vicinity, meaning that starting from the place where the dwelling is located, forty-nine cubits or less is the vicinity of the dwelling. For the surrounding area, starting from the doorway, it means that for the area surrounded by temples, houses, walls, etc., starting from the doorway, forty-nine cubits or less is its vicinity. Here, the scripture says that after a Bhikshuni has arranged her dwelling without a covering, she should not go beyond forty-nine cubits from outside the doorway. If she goes, she will commit a serious offense. To go beyond that range, whether by forgetting or by considering in advance, going to another place, or sleeping inside the dwelling, or entering into meditation, etc., is concealed. It means that the dwelling that becomes the cause of downfall, in order to go beyond that range, that is, to completely abandon it. Whether by forgetting or not forgetting, even if considering in advance, going to another place, or sleeping inside the dwelling, or entering into meditation, etc., is concealed. The concealment that becomes the cause of this fault is of two types, namely two types of concealment. In order, here the scripture says that if on the road one remembers, "I should place the Sangha's dwelling in this direction," until "that downfall should also be confessed according to the Dharma." And "laying out or having someone lay out without a covering, entering the temple without covering or having someone cover, sleeping or entering into meditation," etc. There is also a general statement, namely arranging the dwelling without a covering.
