Here, the discourse of these two sutras is that, monks, for seeds that cannot be sown, therefore it is allowed to eat them after moistening them with steam, do not regret this, this is what the Buddha said. Regarding ripening fruits with fire, the general collection is the main action, it is the correct number, which means that for fruits such as grapes, ripening them by testing with fire, treating the general collection, the total volume, is the main action, it is the main display, it should be known that this leads to the correct number. If the whole is made ripe in this way, all its parts become ripe, because it appears so in the mind. Here the discourse is like this, monks, if the fruits are ripened one by one, it will take a long time, the Blessed One taught, if they are piled up and touched with fire in two or three places, they will all be ripe. From one direction, the general ripening will not occur, which means that touching with fire from one direction, the ripening of treating all the piles as a whole will not occur. This summarizes the statement that therefore the entire surface should be touched with fire in two or three places. The ripening done by a monk is what has been done, which means that the ripening done by a monk through testing is the ripening done by a monk, its object is itself. For it, whether it is ripened by fire or by other means. Here the discourse is, venerable ones, for the time being, a monk ripens the five types of seeds with ashes, nails, or weapons, or it is said that a close attendant ripens them, the remainder other than those ripened by the close attendant with fire can be eaten, they are edible. If one ripens them, it will become a transgression that destroys the collection of seeds, this is what the Buddha said. The meaning of the phrase 'if one ripens them' is that it should be known that ripening them here is destroying the collection of elements. If it is not so, destroying the collection of seeds will not be called a transgression, but will be called a misdeed.

In the category of "Ngas-pai," it was not said that way. Here, what is said as "except for what is made permissible by someone nearby," means that it should be made permissible by fire. It is not like that, therefore, it should be understood that the sutra is based on the premise of a monk cooking, and it shows that it is not permissible to eat. What is called "land is not permissible" means that the land of a house that is not permissible is not permissible, placing grains and so on, whatever is made permissible by fire, that is also made permissible. Seven-day medicine and what is stored for sustenance should not be eaten without being sprinkled with cold water, because it is related to making it permissible, so it is written briefly here: Seven-day medicine and what is stored for sustenance should not be eaten without being sprinkled with cold water. Making it permissible, it is permissible to do it at any time, but it is not certain that it should only be done at the time of eating. Here, the text is: The eight kinds of monastic drinks, whatever is made from the fruit of Tsotsai, made from the fruit of the water tree, made from Gyashuk, made from Drago, made from Tsupgyur, made from grapes and Udumbara, made from Nyagro-dha, made from Khyapne, if they are mixed and blended with the juice of the root, the juice of the trunk, the juice of the leaves, or the juice of the flowers, is it permissible to drink? If they are not sour, do not become intoxicating, and are not astringent, then it is permissible to drink. Apart from that, what is mixed with water is either seven-day medicine or what is stored for sustenance. That is what is said. What is called "what is permissible at the appointed time should also not be sprinkled with that" means that food that is permissible at the appointed time, such as barley flour, should also not be sprinkled with that cold water, it is not permissible to drink. When churning butter and when extracting oil, it is also necessary to sprinkle with cold water, but sprinkling at that time is not making it permissible, because that blending is an unfinished stage. Butter and oil are considered to be made permissible after they are finished. Sugar also needs to be sprinkled with cold water when it is boiled with fire, but sprinkling with water at that time does not count as making it permissible. It is impossible to make seven-day medicine permissible with fire, here, the text is: After that, that monkey...
