Because it makes clear, therefore 'Lung' (Tibetan, lung, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, literal Chinese meaning: Holy Teaching) is called 'Indicator'. 'Becoming that' means belonging to that, it is a synonym of 'Lung'. 'Also reciting Dharma and letters' means: Belonging to 'Lung', the Dharma spoken by the righteous, and if letters are not fully ordained, or recited in the manner of 'Cir Cir' or 'Following at the end', it will become a synonym for the sin of reciting. If merely saying 'Dharma' can obtain 'Indicator', then why say both 'Indicator' and 'Dharma'? Like this, the treatises of heretical sects also have the word 'Indicator', to exclude that, therefore 'Dharma' is said. Like here, words extracted from 'Lung' and used elsewhere are also 'Dharma', for example, 'All dharmas are without self', 'All conditioned things are momentary' and so on. Similarly, extracting from the meaning of 'Lung' but without the letters of 'Lung', possessing differences such as names and words, is also 'Dharma', but those are not 'Indicators', for example, the Jataka tales composed by the teacher Hero and so on. Therefore, to show that what abides in 'Lung' itself is 'Lung' itself, both words are said. 'Dharma' refers to what is spoken by the Buddha, or the nature of names and words spoken by his Shravakas. Name refers to 'Buddha, Dharma, Sangha' and so on. Word refers to, for example, 'The ripening fruit of virtuous deeds' and so on, making people understand what they want to say. 'Also letters' refers to even a single letter. Like this, here in the scripture it says: 'Reciting Dharma with the same words will become a transgression. Reciting Dharma with the words preceding will become a transgression. Reciting Dharma with the same letters will become a transgression. Reciting words with the letters preceding will become a transgression.' Therefore, statements exceeding letters, names and words are also included here. 'Reciting' means, thinking that it is said for the purpose of reading, so it is said that there is no transgression for oral inquiries and so on.

If it is accomplished unwillingly, then it is an exception. This means that if one is unwilling to recite simultaneously, but it is accomplished due to laziness, then it is an exception. This shows that if one is unwilling to recite simultaneously, but speaks slowly, if one recites simultaneously, then there is no transgression. Thus, here the scripture says: If one speaks slowly with ups and downs, then there is no transgression. The phrase "one who should be made to listen later should also recite" is connected to "then it is an exception." The so-called "one who should be made to listen later" means that the Bhikshu who recites should make others listen, and admonish them: You should not recite simultaneously or before me, and if he says so, but still recites simultaneously, then there is no transgression. Repetition, learning, and questioning are also connected to "then it is an exception." The so-called repetition is to practice so as not to forget what was previously recited. The so-called learning is to repeat and show in front of the one who should recite. The so-called questioning is to recite at the appropriate time, or to remember doubts, or to ask others to clarify in order to dispel doubts. Why is it that one does not transgress in those circumstances? Thus, at the time of initial acceptance and recitation, whoever recites at will is because he does not respect the one who should recite and the Dharma, so his mind is weakened, so in those circumstances, this transgression is established, which does not depend on transmission. Here the scripture says that in some questions, if a Bhikshu recites the Dharma word by word with a Bhikshuni, what transgression is committed? Answer: He commits a Dukkrta. The Bhikshuni is the same with the Bhikshu. If a Bhikshu obtains a transgression from one who has not been fully ordained, then if one who has not been fully ordained simultaneously or subsequently shows the Dharma and letters, then both of them commit a Dukkrta. The transgression of reciting has been explained. Twenty-third chapter, Chapter on Evil Destinies.

Desiring to censure the offenses, therefore, let us briefly discuss some matters related to them. It is said that sinful monks and nuns should be appointed to inform each household separately, which should be connected to the monks who have become the Sangha appointing them to inform each household separately. Who are those who inform each household separately? They are the sinful monks and nuns. Sinful means those who have broken their vows. What should the monk who informs each household separately say when he goes to each house? Therefore, the one who informs each household separately should say to the householders: "Listen, you who have life. These people create discord in families and places, just as if a bountiful rice field is struck by terrible hail, the rice becomes weak, exhausted, and useless because it is untimely. Or, if a bountiful sugarcane field is afflicted by a disease called red disease, the sugarcane becomes weak, exhausted, and useless because it is untimely. You who have life, do not accept the teachings of this monk and nun. Just like burnt malt, this monk and nun are incapable of growing in this Dharma and Vinaya, so please look to the Bhagavan and the elder monks!" Thus it should be said. The term 'terrible hail' means as terrible as a wheel, falling very fiercely and being difficult to endure. The types of hail also include thunderstorms and the like that accompany the fall. The term 'red disease' refers to the appearance of red rust. The term 'weak' means to diminish strength. The term 'exhausted' means dry. The term 'useless because it is untimely' means unreasonable, that is, out of time. The term 'becoming useless' means causing damage and the like, meaning to make it useless. The term 'like burnt malt' means when the rice...
