There is no fault in not succeeding in obtaining offerings. Regarding the Great Bodhi Stupa, the Wheel of Dharma, the Great Miraculous Manifestation, and the Descent from the Gods, it is not allowed to offer to other stupas except for these. It means that if the wealth offered to other stupas cannot be successfully offered to that stupa, or even if it is transported there, it cannot be offered, then there is no fault in transferring it to other stupas. In order to explain the avoidance of excessive extremes, it is not allowed to transfer wealth belonging to the lineage of the Great Bodhi Stupa, the Wheel of Dharma, the Great Miraculous Manifestation, and the Descent from the Gods to other stupas other than these four great stupas. That is only a fault. If the wealth offered to any one of these four great stupas is transferred to any of the other three, there is no fault. What is explained here is that if an object is offered to a stupa other than the four great stupas, if it cannot be sent there, then the object should be transferred to another stupa and used. If an object is offered to the four great stupas, it should not be transferred to other stupas and used, but should be offered to the stupa to which it was offered. If it is not possible to offer it to the stupa to which it was offered, then the objects offered to the other three stupas can be transferred and used in the one of these four stupas that is closest. The precept regarding the transfer of offerings has been explained. Now, wanting to explain the precept of storing food, therefore, incidentally, it should be said to the bhikkhu that the food blessed for seven days has expired. It means that the bhikkhu should be told that the ghee and other items blessed for seven days have expired, for example, saying: From today onwards, the first day has passed, today is the second day, and so on. So, what constitutes a violation of the precept of storing food? Therefore, it is said "holding for the purpose of eating," which should be combined with "seven days of items." This holding is a transgression, but eating is not. For example, food has been stored

It is because eating food will only become a cause of downfall. Likewise, here in the scripture, the Pratimoksha Sutra states: 'Furthermore, any bhikshu who cooks or eats food and seasonings that have been stored commits a downfall.' Since there is no need to abandon what has already been eaten, eating is not the object here. If it is said that the Pratimoksha Sutra states: 'If one enjoys it beyond that time, one commits a downfall of expiation,' although it is true, the word 'eat' is mentioned there to closely indicate holding, because eating is impossible without holding. When showing the downfall, the fault is also stated from the cause of holding, not from the cause of eating. If a bhikshu finds a medicine on one day, and he finds another on the second day, then that bhikshu should consume the earliest medicine within those seven days, and abandon or give away the latest medicine. Or consume the latest medicine, and abandon or give away the earliest medicine. If one does not consume, does not abandon, nor give to others, when the dawn of the eighth day rises, one commits a downfall of expiation. Therefore, what should one hold? Therefore, it is said 'that,' which is that which has been blessed on the seventh day. If it has not been blessed, even if one holds it beyond seven days, there is no fault, because it is permissible, like gold and so on. When will one abandon it? Therefore, it is said 'when the dawn of the eighth day rises,' that is, if one holds the substance blessed on the seventh day when the dawn of the eighth day rises, one will commit a downfall of expiation. Holding the substance blessed on the seventh day for the sake of eating, it is not only from here that a fault arises, but also, like this, what has not been given and received, what is not permissible, such as human flesh, what is mixed with what is not permissible, and holding what is mixed with other tests, a fault will also arise from here. Just like, for example, what is mixed with what is permissible at the time, what is permissible in time, belonging to what cannot be eaten, holding it after noon for the sake of eating, will belong to the fault here.
