The so-called "even if it takes a long time, it will not be damaged" means: the owner, benefactor, or person in charge of management, even if it takes a long time, even if they go to a distant place, even if a long time has passed, there is no fault for those suitable things. The so-called "it is permissible to have food made for one's own benefit" means: for one's own benefit, it is permissible to have food prepared. This explains that if a bhikkhu, for his own needs, in order to maintain his body, uses wealth to have food prepared, he will not become gluttonous because of this, which is reasonable. The words spoken from "for even the smallest things, do it first" to "the work has been done" are gathered here. The provisions for the road are obtained from things below precious jewels, which appears from the beginning, except for the subtle parts, because this treatise appears from the distinctions. The so-called "to do this, it is permissible to accept karashapana because of poverty" means: the so-called "to do this" means to make food, that is, for beggars and others. The so-called "because of poverty" means: in order to have food made, because of the lack of expenses. Therefore, it is also permissible to accept karashapana. Therefore, accepting karashapana and so on, should not be accepted in inappropriate circumstances. Even so, trust the benefactor, and after accepting karashapana, enjoy it as you wish. From the words "trust the benefactor," it is permissible to accept in any situation. In inappropriate circumstances, it should not be accepted solely because of the needs of oneself and others. The so-called "provisions for the road are obtained from things below precious jewels" means: provisions for the road are acceptable from below precious jewels, up to the limit of precious jewels, which is the final meaning of this sentence. Here, the treatise is because the bhikkhus do not know what kind of road provisions are, so the Blessed One taught: the bhikkhu's road provisions are five kinds of food, five things considered to be food, and five things considered to be jewels. What are the five kinds of food? Rice, hot rice, meat, fish meat, and oil cakes. What are the things considered to be food? Millet, barnyard millet, soybeans, buckwheat, and peas. What are the five jewels? Gold and silver.

Lapis lazuli, crystal, and pearl. What are the five precious things mentioned? Lead, copper, meteorite, iron ore, and iron. For the sake of fire, a fire mirror should be placed nearby, which means that a monk should carry a precious fire mirror for the sake of fire, and this is also a need that is in accordance with the Dharma. Do not place it without hiding it, which means do not place the fire mirror without hiding or guarding it. Do not show it to one who has not given it, which means do not show the fire mirror to a thief. After extracting its fruit, one should give it to him, which means extracting the fruit of the fire mirror, which is fire, and then giving the fire to the thief. For the sake of water, a water mirror is also acceptable, which means that a monk may also place a water mirror for the sake of water, and the word "also" is to repeat the meaning of "should be placed." The guarding ritual is like this, the guarding ritual, that is, the way of hiding, is like "do not place it without hiding it," etc., the ritual of hiding the fire mirror should be understood as the same as what was said before. For permitted utensils, do not mix in the boundaries of owning treasures, which means that rings and other utensils are permitted. Do not mix the boundaries of owning treasures into the permitted scope. Thus it is declared, although the Blessed One has permitted rings and other utensils, a monk should not own rings and other things made of treasure. The permitted items such as rings are clearly stated, therefore this sutra was made. Similarly, in the Vinaya, the Blessed One also said: "Therefore, monks are allowed to carry rings, monks are allowed to carry needles and medicine bowls, and offering drinking bowls." A monk should not carry rings etc. made of gold, silver, lapis lazuli and crystal. In the beginning of the Vinaya, the Blessed One also said: "One should carry a medicine box for tobacco." And what kind of question was asked?
