Any new seat that is not patched with the height of a span of the Buddha from the old seat is the same as not patching it with the height of a span of the Buddha from the old seat. If each uses a new seat with such particularity, it will become a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. The so-called "new" means newly made or newly obtained. Here it refers to newly made. Therefore, if a newly made seat is obtained from anywhere, the Bhikshu should also patch it with the height of a span of the Buddha from his old seat. If there is no old seat, will using a new seat that is not patched with the height of a span of the Buddha constitute an offense? No, therefore it is said, "If there is one." If there is an old seat, it should be done that way. If there is only a little bit, will it also constitute an offense? Therefore it is said, "Even if there is only that much." It means, even if there is only a span of the Buddha. What if there is only that much that is hard? Therefore it is said, "If it can be repaired." It means, if it can be repaired, if it is repairable. If it can be connected and sewn, it also means, if the pieces can be connected and sewn, then of course it can, meaning that if there is no such thing, it will not constitute an offense. The Nissaggiya Pacittiya of a span has been explained. What will constitute the Nissaggiya Pacittiya of taking wool? Therefore it is said, if there is no taking, taking sheep's wool exceeding three Krosha (about 9 kilometers), or even if there is taking. If there is no taking, taking sheep's wool exceeding three Krosha, reaching the far end, will constitute a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Reaching half a Krosha will constitute a Dukkata offense. If there is already taking, and one takes it oneself, then only at the beginning will one commit another Dukkata offense. Reaching half a Krosha will commit another Dukkata offense. Reaching the end of a Krosha will constitute a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Going is divided into two types, namely with offense and without offense. Among them, with offense is taking wool and virtuous.

Traveling with a beggar, embarking on a boat with a Bhikkhuni, traveling without a man with a woman, traveling with a thief. There is no downfall in repeatedly eating, eating together, and bathing. Among these, there is no downfall for half a krosha, which will be mentioned below. To explain the situations accompanied by downfall, it is said: Traveling is of the nature of one krosha. Traveling is starting to travel. That traveling is of the nature of one krosha, and reaching the end of one krosha will result in downfall, that is the final conclusion. It is explained thus: For those situations where carrying wool and other reasons for traveling become faultless, if they reach a distance of one krosha, it will become an actual offense. If it is halfway, it is the preparatory stage, meaning: If one reaches half a krosha, it becomes the preparatory stage. Reaching that point, the preparatory stage is completely fulfilled. Here, the text states: If one reaches half a krosha, one commits a minor offense. If one reaches one krosha, one commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. If one travels in the sky by means other than supernatural power, one commits a minor offense. By means other than supernatural power means: By other means other than supernatural power, such as mantras. If one travels in the sky by these means, one commits a minor offense. If one travels by supernatural power, there is no downfall. Also by transformation, meaning: The word "also" is to emphasize committing a minor offense. Because transformation is also achieved through supernatural power, in order to dispel the idea that there is no offense in traveling by transformation, it is said that one commits a minor offense. This is in terms of the physical manifestation. Here, the text states: If a monk asks a Bhikkhu to fetch wool from the sky, what offense is committed? If it is taken by supernatural power, there is no downfall. If it is taken by other means, one commits a minor offense. If a monk asks a Bhikkhu to fetch it by means of a transformed tool, what offense is committed? One commits a minor offense. Hats and shoes with buckles, breastplates with linings, Chinese vests, whips, rosaries, and so on, that's all.
