In order to teach through the actions of children, it is expressed with the word "later." If a monk does not receive the upper and lower robes, if he receives them especially later, he should also give the excess to those who receive offerings, because this exceeds the meaning of perfection. Through the power of intention, it is also complete, such as through the intention of being alone or mended. If a monk who should not beg thinks that he should beg, what kind of offense will he commit if he starts begging? Therefore, it is said, "If one begs for what should not be begged, it is an evil deed." If one begs for what should not be begged, such as clothes made of coarse hair or wool that are not suitable for begging, then from the action, it is an evil deed. If it is obtained, it is the root offense, because it is not allowed, and the root offense is heavier than the evil deed. It is taught in this way: Whatever thing, as long as there is a need to possess a certain quality, if the matter related to it is urgent, then the monk, because of the need to offer to the Buddha and so on, even if that thing is very much, should beg for it. If there is no urgent matter, even a blade of grass should not be taken as one's own, let alone clothes and other things, which belong to the previous evil deeds. It is said, "Even if one does not give, it is the same." In order to echo the "root offense," the word "also" is said. It is said, "One should give the excess." If one does not give, it is the root offense, and it will become a relinquishment offense. Therefore, for this training, one should understand that if this excess is not given, it is the root offense. The section on "relinquishment for what should be begged" has been explained. The relinquishment of begging for food is a detailed classification of the relinquishment of begging. Therefore, in the case of the relinquishment of begging, belonging to human beings, becoming a householder, having life, not being a relative, being a factor of downfall, etc., after acknowledging the manner in which it is said, its details will be explained. Therefore, it is said, "Knowing that food has not been given is the same as not giving it." Not giving means that the donor says to the person who expels the fallen, "Give this food offered for the monastic robe to him."

Not inviting with monastic robes. Knowing means that a monk knows through anything. Regarding the request for monastic robes, it should be understood as being no different from not requesting. It is said that, like unrequested monastic robes, requesting from a layperson who belongs to the human realm, is alive, and is not a relative, becomes a minor offense, and if obtained, it becomes a substantial offense. Similarly, requested monastic robes are the same. Not knowing whether it is requested is the place of abandonment of requesting, and requesting is this place. To show that meaning, it is said that it is different. That is, it refers to someone who does not know that they have committed a transgression by requesting monastic robes. Different means that it is unrequested. It is said that this should be understood as belonging to the basis of abandoning requesting. If one requests without knowing whether it is requested, then it should be understood as a minor offense belonging to the abandonment of requesting. If one knows, then at the time of obtaining it, it should be understood as a substantial offense belonging to the abandonment of requesting. The abandonment of requesting monastic robes has been explained. Thus, individually requesting monastic robes, although it is the aspect of abandoning requesting monastic robes, different transgressions should be established based on the differences in the accumulation of offerings. For example, the venerable Nears Delight caused householders and their wives to offer large pieces of cloth separately. Although it seems like requesting monastic robes, the difference should be stated, which is that the accumulation of offerings is large. The phrase "Also, knowing that requesting what has not been offered is no different from not requesting, and that it is different," should be added after all of that. The accumulation of offerings being large means without hesitation. Also, the word "also" establishes the individual abandonments separately through the previously shown aspects. Thus, here the meaning of the words arises, which is that the accumulation of offerings is large, belonging to a layperson who belongs to the human realm, is alive, and is not a relative, requesting monastic robes.
