It does not become so by preventing the utterance of what has been refuted, if one person cannot prevent it from being uttered. It should be understood that an offense occurs with the words that prevent the utterance by those who belong to the continuum of some number of monks. Even if one prevents me from speaking about something that has been refuted by the object of training, it is only a minor offense. This completes what is called the Sanghavasesa of displeasure. The Sanghavasesa matters are complete, thus the thirteen Sanghavasesas have been explained. Desiring to explain the Nissaggiya Pacittiya, in order to show the common characteristics of the training such as initially holding and separating, it is said: That which is not the beginning of day and night, does not have a final non-existence. This sutra and the following two are only common characteristics. That day and night which does not have the beginning of day and night is that which is not the beginning of day and night, namely the final moment. That day and night called the final moment, except for one moment, does not have a final non-existence, namely there is no day and night of ten time periods. This is shown, namely, when ten days have passed, one month has passed, six days have passed, seven days have passed, in those also, only that moment which is the end of the beginning of day and night obtains the name of day and night, therefore, in the case of Nissaggiya, it should be understood that that itself becomes a limb. Those moments that belong to the remaining ten time periods are not the limb of establishing Nissaggiya. Here, the scriptural authority is that in the training of holding, the Blessed One said: Does the monk obtain a robe on a certain day? Does he obtain a bowl on a certain day? Thus, without specifically mentioning the initial time period of that day, it is said that if dawn breaks on the eleventh day, it becomes a Nissaggiya Pacittiya. If the remaining moments other than the final moment also become limbs, then at that time, it should be said like this, namely, from the morning of a certain day to the morning of the eleventh day? Likewise, from the noon or afternoon of a certain day to the noon or afternoon of the eleventh day, does it become a Nissaggiya Pacittiya? But it was not said like that,

Therefore, the exact moment of the first day and night is uncertain, as the name 'day and night' is only acquired at the very last instant of that first day and night. Thus, apart from that final instant, the other moments of the remaining ten periods are not the limbs to be abandoned here. Only that single final instant is counted as one initial day and night, and from then on, the nights of dwelling are counted, and it should be understood that abandonment should be applied as appropriate, whether ten nights, one month, six nights, or seven nights have passed. Regarding 'For dwelling, it is the vessel of combination,' it means that for dwelling, that is, the training related to dwelling, the moments preceding the final instant are the vessel of combination, and it should be understood that it becomes a misdeed. For example, those who have not taken full ordination, those who dwell together, those who, even having taken full ordination, do not give up looking, those who dwell together, those who have expelled a novice, those whose names do not match, those who sleep together in one place, those who sleep with a lamp, those who dwell in the army, there are times that are not the final instant, because they are the vessel of combination. Thus it is taught: The training precepts such as sleeping with those who have not taken full ordination, and the training precept of dwelling in the army, even the parts of the day and night that are not the final instant are the vessel of combination, because they are misdeeds, so they are not without fault. This is the concluding statement. Except for dwelling in the army, for other dwelling training precepts, only the time belonging to the night is the vessel of combination, not dwelling during the day. Because they said, 'Those who commit adultery on the third night should be excluded,' therefore night is mentioned. For those who dwell in the army, even dwelling during the day becomes the cause of the vessel of combination, because merely dwelling there becomes a fault. Wanting to speak of the beginning of day and night, it was said, 'Its beginning is the first dawn,' that is, the beginning of day and night is: the first dawn, the middle of dawn, and the dawn among the last dawns.
