If one starts building now, it will become a Sangha remnant after the monastery is completed. Previously, it was a gross offense. Regarding the monastery, due to the topic, it is mentioned "together with the owner," but this is not a branch of it, because even without an owner, it is possible to purchase land, etc. If the Sangha is made the basis for construction, it is the same. For the Sangha remnant of a house, two other branches should be mentioned, namely "for one person." If it is built for one person, it will become a Sangha remnant, but if it is for two or more people, it will become a gross offense. Here, according to some sutras questioned by the attendant, if it is built for the common benefit of both, it will become a gross offense. The mention of "two" in the sutra is to indicate approximation, even if it is built for the benefit of more people, it is only a gross offense. Therefore, if it is built for oneself alone, or for another bhikkhu, or for the benefit of a householder, it is a Sangha remnant, because the phrase "for one person" does not specifically limit "one." So, does every situation where construction is started become like that? No. Therefore, it is said "exceeding the limit," that is, exceeding the place of the limit, that is, building beyond the prescribed limit. If it is said "on impure land," then what is impure here? Therefore, it is said "the place of impermissibility, and the place accompanied by disputes, and the place of non-commencement are impure," that is, the place of impermissibility, and the place accompanied by disputes, and the place of non-commencement, these three are called impure. So, what is the nature of these three? Therefore, it is said "associated with the dwelling place of minute creatures, and the dwelling place of the king, and the gods, and relying on the dwelling place of heretics, and trees that should not be cut down, and the danger within the range of one fathom outside, if there is a river inside, or a cliff, or a well, and the fathom itself, these are those in order," that is, being associated with the dwelling place of minute creatures and the fathom itself are places of impermissibility. Being associated with the dwelling place of minute creatures means being associated with the dwelling place of apparitions and sins, etc.

It is the nature of dwelling. To contradict that is the nature of what should not be done. Here, the scripture says that if there is no dwelling place for snakes, or a dwelling place for scorpions, or a dwelling place for bees, Trema Buka and Tralada. These are just examples, and all small living beings such as ants should also be included. Relying on the dwelling place of kings and gods, and the dwelling place of non-Buddhists, and trees that should not be cut down, and construction, are all related to disputes. The so-called relying on the dwelling place of kings, the dwelling place of worldly gods, and the dwelling place of non-Buddhists, means being close to them. Because there are many ordinary people there, as well as elephants, horses, mules, etc., and the harm caused by their sounds. The so-called trees that should not be cut down, means connecting words there, because that is what ordinary people need. Because disputes will arise in the world, it is therefore related to disputes. In the inner part near the edge of the outer one-bow range, construction with rivers, cliffs, or wells, is what should not be started. From the outside of the dwelling, within the inner part near the edge of the one-bow range, whether it is a river, a cliff, or a well, if it is built with one of them, the life of the dwelling will be shortened, so it has the fault of not being started. Among them, the so-called outside refers to the outside of the dwelling's fence. The so-called one bow refers to four cubits. The so-called edge of one bow refers to the boundary of one bow. The so-called its vicinity refers to being close to it. The so-called its vicinity, that is, the part of the extreme end near the edge of one bow. The so-called its interior refers to inward from that extreme end part, that is, the interior of one bow. In any direction, whether it is the center or the edge of the interior, if it is built with anything such as a river, the time spent dwelling there will be shortened, so it is what should not be started. In all directions, around, completely, building with all rivers etc., one should only not approach. Here the scripture says that the vicinity of the edge of the one-bow range should be examined.
