The reason for saying "as prescribed" is to abandon the meaning of interruption. It is connected to the previous statement, meaning that it is not interrupted in the middle of mentioning the name of the preceptor. This is a concluding term. The so-called "rite of becoming a novice monk" is a concluding term for the rite of obtaining the status of a novice monk. After explaining the rite of becoming a novice monk in detail, now the rite of full ordination will be described. The so-called "receiving full ordination from the Sangha" means that full ordination can only be obtained from the Sangha. Just as ordination and the status of a novice monk can only be obtained from an individual, full ordination is not obtained from an individual. So, by what means can full ordination be obtained from the Sangha? It is said that "one should request the monk who has become the assistant to the preceptor and the one who secretly instructs." The so-called "becoming the assistant to the preceptor" refers to the monk who is the attendant of the preceptor for full ordination and who has become prepared. He should be entrusted to request the one who performs the actions, and the monk who secretly instructs should also be requested. The mention of "monk" is to distinguish the one who secretly instructs, because the one who performs the actions has already been determined to be a monk by fully declaring the actions. What should be done after the request? It is said that "one should request the preceptor," which means that the one who wishes to receive full ordination should request the preceptor in the center of the Sangha. After requesting the preceptor, what should the preceptor do? It is said that "he himself should bless the three Dharma robes for him." The word "he" refers to approaching the preceptor, because it was just indicated. If that is the case, then there is no need to say "himself," because even if it is said "he should bless the three Dharma robes for him," the meaning can be understood. Why is it necessary to say "himself"? It is not so. The reason for saying "himself" is to abandon the rite of delegation. For example, shaving hair and examining the sexual characteristics, etc., even if done by others, there is no fault. Such an uncertain rite is called the rite of delegation. But here, the blessing of the Dharma robes must be done by the preceptor.

Because you are doing the work yourself, do not let others do it, for that purpose, the word "self" is spoken. The so-called "that" refers to the completion of the near event. In this way, the meaning of the sutra here is: Does that Khenpo himself have the three Dharma robes that have been cut and sewn for the completion of the near event? If not, the reason should also be blessed to others. After blessing, put it on again, because blessing the Dharma robe is for the sake of appearance. The bowl should not be too small, nor too large, nor too white, and should be shown to the Sangha. The word "also" in "the bowl should also be shown to the Sangha" means that he himself should also bless that. Why show the bowl to the Sangha? Therefore, it is said "do not be too small" and so on. Among the three bowls that can be blessed, "do not be too small" means "is it not small?" "Do not be too big" means "in the three sizes, is the volume not exceeded?" "Do not be too white" means "has the bowl not turned white?" The reason for saying "black bowl" is to completely avoid the faults of becoming white, etc., because it has the shortcomings of being too small, etc., it cannot be blessed. After showing the bowl, what should those monks say? Not everyone says that, but says "the bowl is good". Saying "everyone" is to show that there are no omissions in the gathered monks. "That" means "that kind of thing", that is, having shortcomings such as being too small. "Not that" means "not that kind of thing", that is, without shortcomings such as being too small. In this way, the meaning of the sutra here is: If that bowl does not have the shortcomings of being too small, etc., and has the advantages of being the right size, good turning, etc., then all the monks at that time
