It says, "Mthar thug na'o (Tibetan, Sanskrit pending, Romanized Sanskrit pending, literally: ultimate)" and so on. Although the accomplishment of the cause of both the giver of lodging and the teacher of reading is not the third part of the third expression, the giving of lodging is when it reaches the ultimate, is completed, and becomes fully accomplished. "Zhag gcig (Tibetan, one day)" means one day and night. "Gnas nyid kyi phyir nye bar gnas pa (Tibetan, dwelling closely because of the lodging itself)" means that one dwells closely to the teacher who gives lodging because the lodging itself is regarded as a dwelling. "Mthar thug na'o (Tibetan, Sanskrit pending, Romanized Sanskrit pending, literally: ultimate)" means that the giving of lodging is ultimate. It is taught thus: When one regards the teacher who gives lodging as a dwelling and dwells together for one day and night, then that is the ultimate of giving lodging. Likewise, from another perspective, who is the teacher who gives lodging? It is said that even staying for just one day in his presence is also relying on him. Reading is "Tshigs su bcad pa gcig lan gsum bzlas na'o (Tibetan, reciting one verse three times)" means that if one recites one verse three times with the intention of reading, then that is the ultimate of reading. It is taught thus: If one reads one verse three times, then that person should be regarded as a teacher of reading, and it should be known that that is also the ultimate of reading. In the scriptures, what is the teacher of reading? It is said that it is one who has merely taken up a verse of four lines. Such words appear. The word "bzung ba (Tibetan, taken up)" should be explained in this way: Repeating what the teacher of reading says, therefore, repeating after him is not taking up. These words that the teacher has briefly written appear in the scriptures of 'Destroying'. If it is said that reciting one verse three times is the ultimate of reading, then if one recites "gyi na (Tibetan)" three times, one would also become a teacher. If one thinks like that, then speaking without the intention of reading is not reading, because even if one recites a thousand times without the intention of reading, it is merely not reading, just like reciting by rote. Therefore, speaking without the intention of reading does not become a teacher. Recitation and so on should be practiced.

Because it is (my) thought, and reading is the way to grasp what has not been grasped. Therefore, if there is no reading even for recitation and so on, it is difficult to say that one can become a Khenpo (abbot). Not to mention becoming a Khenpo and an Upadhyaya (preceptor). If one becomes a Khenpo and an Upadhyaya, how should their names be addressed? It is said that one should not use other terms for them. That is, for Khenpo and Upadhyaya, one should not use other terms except for the terms Khenpo and Upadhyaya. A close term is close, because the word "close" is a word that indicates closeness. Therefore, the names of Khenpo and Upadhyaya, as well as terms such as "Ayushman," "Venerable," and "Elder," should not be addressed with other terms. For example, one should only call the Upadhyaya as Upadhyaya, and one should only call the Khenpo as Khenpo. For the two of them, one should not use any terms that are not close. For the elderly, one should not use names that are not close, because the reason lies in this. "One should not do this to others" means that for people other than Khenpo and Upadhyaya, that is, those who are not Khenpo and Upadhyaya, one should not closely address them as Khenpo and Upadhyaya. If it is said that one should closely address Khenpo as Khenpo, then, if one can also closely address Khenpo with only the term Khenpo, just like Upadhyaya? Therefore, it is said that "mentioning the name for the sake of meaning," etc., if one does not say these, one cannot call the name of Khenpo. That is, when calling the name of Khenpo, if one does not say the phrase "mentioning the name for the sake of meaning," merely closely calling the word "Khenpo" is not enough to call the name of Khenpo. Here it is explained that for the sake of meaning, that is, for the sake of need, from the name of Khenpo, that is, from the name of Khenpo, one should say "mentioning the name," that is, say the phrase "mentioning the name," and after saying this phrase, closely calling the term Khenpo, only then can one closely call the name of Khenpo. If one does not say the phrase "mentioning the name for the sake of meaning," merely closely calling the word "Khenpo" is not enough to call the name of Khenpo.
