Regarding the statement, "Even if crossing a field, it is still considered a grave offense," the space related to the boundary is the space of the boundary. Then, crossing the field means crossing from the boundary of the field that needs to be measured, from the space, the position of the field. Even if done in this way, it is still considered a grave offense, because it is an act of grave offense, so it is considered a grave offense. Its essence is just that. It is explained here: If a Bhikshu reaches the boundary of a field, because of the material of the field that needs to be measured, bodily effort, such as increasing property, etc.; or verbal effort, such as the recitation of secret mantras, etc.; or mental effort, other than that arising from clairvoyance, such as manifesting miraculous powers, etc., if I cross from the position of the field through space, I will commit a grave offense. For a field, if five Masha-kas, etc., are lacking in substance, that is a grave offense. When a Bhikshu abides only in space, from the outer boundary of the field's position, in space, the material of the field that needs to be measured crosses the position of the field, there is no transgression. Some say this: A Bhikshu dwells outside the boundary of the field, if the material of the field that needs to be measured, using the method previously stated, crosses the position of the field from space, he will also commit a grave offense. If from within the boundary of the field, if he crosses through space, then at that time he will commit a defeat. But that is not accepted, because kings rule the land, not the space. If the boundary has not been reached, then even the measurement itself will not occur, so how could a transgression occur? There is no offense in carrying away by means of miraculous powers, this statement is related to the statement, "Even if crossing a field." If a Bhikshu reaches inside the boundary of a field, using the miraculous powers arising from meditation, the material of the field that needs to be measured, from space or anywhere, crosses the position of the field, then there is no transgression, because he has no intention of stealing. Here the text is: Venerable Bhikshu, if temporarily crossing a field from space, what transgression will be committed? If crossing the land by means of miraculous powers, there is no transgression.

If it is done in other ways, it is said to be a serious offense. The word "also" in another place should be connected to "even if the Shogam (Tibetan: ཤོ་གམ་, a kind of boundary) is broken, there is no offense." The "other boundary" mentioned in another place refers to a boundary other than the Shogam boundary. There, even if the Shogam is broken, there is no offense, meaning there is no downfall. The sentence "If one persuades, one commits a minor offense" should be connected to "breaking the Shogam," that is, persuading others to break the Shogam, one should know that this is committing a minor offense. Here it is taught that whether or not a monk has reached the place of Shogam, in order to prevent others from going to that place, if he persuades them to go left or right from the place of Shogam, or persuades them to return, then the monk who persuades will commit a minor offense. The sentence "Indicating other roads is also the same" should also be connected to "breaking the Shogam," that is, indicating other roads to break the Shogam will also be a minor offense. Here it is taught that whether or not a monk has reached the place of Shogam, in order to make others return, or in order to make them go left or right, if he indicates other roads for them to go, then the one who indicates other roads will commit a minor offense. This is the meaning of this sentence. If it is expressed in an obscure way, then one commits a subtle offense, which means that the two actions of persuading and indicating other roads are not done directly, but expressed in an obscure way, one should know that this is committing a subtle offense. Expressing in an obscure way refers to speaking in a roundabout way, for example, among the owners of the items that need to be measured by Shogam, the monk generally says: Whoever passes through the place of Shogam in the middle of the night, those people do not need to measure Shogam, saying this, but not explicitly saying "do this, do this," like this, then one will commit a subtle offense. This is the meaning of this sentence. The sentence "Deviating from the road is like the road" means that deviating from the road should be understood as being similar to the road. Here it is taught that if a monk arrives at the place of Shogam and does not deviate from the road, but allows items that need to be measured by Shogam to pass through, it is like passing through a straight road.
