O! The so-called "reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra" means: If it is the fourteenth and fifteenth day, because one night is not enough, so today is the fifteenth day. Therefore, the practice of Uposatha is included in the fourteenth day. The sutra says that there are two kinds of Uposatha, namely the fourteenth and fifteenth days. There is no contradiction here. This is what is to be explained here. Lacking one night, and the Uposatha mentioned elsewhere, is to explain that the date of that month is ultimately the Sangha's fourteenth Uposatha. It should be said: "I am the bhikkhu so-and-so, practicing the fourteenth Uposatha." This is also because of the lack of one night, in order to explain the meaning of Uposatha. Saying "half month half month" twice is to explain the meaning of half month half month. The so-called "reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra" means: Here, Uposatha can nourish the precepts. In order to seek these, the Pratimoksha Sutra is recited. Separately observe what has been done and not done by recollection. Cultivating with an upright mind, and for the sake of cultivating differences, the nature of determination arises from all aspects, transcending its own nature and fruit, and the things that make it different, are all for the sake of precepts. In this way, precepts can also be nourished in these ways, so these differences are fully accepted. The so-called "reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra" means: In order to show all that belongs to the Vinaya, and in order to prevent the inversion of showing all the contents, the behavior of joy is established here, and the remaining teachings of the Victorious One are established elsewhere. Or again, if others bring teachings that are in accordance with the Dharma, then you should learn those contents that are truly joyful and obedient to the teachings from what has been prescribed and followed. If discrimination is made, this is not unestablished. Because through pure conduct, and through giving, the precepts of Uposatha can be increased. This is to explain that after making discrimination, Uposatha is no longer practiced. Both of these can purify the precepts.
