When explaining what the Buddha's second downfall is, therefore, it is said, "It is also household chores," etc. It is said, "It is done, to follow the work," etc. No matter how much is done, it is done. At home, sprinkling water and wiping with a cloth to clean it, washing pottery, preparing and stirring food, drinks, chewing substances, etc., washing hands and feet, etc., offering to the lineage deities, performing incense burning and torma offerings, etc., these are the essence of household chores, originating from the topic of discussion. And watching, kneading, drying, mending, washing wooden paths, placing, bedding, shaking cushions, placing, arranging, etc., and offering shoes and bath towels, taking clothes, offering bathing clothes, offering water and fragrance to tired and newcomers, allowing all to enter, washing utensils, etc., these should be understood as things called "that." Cooking raw food, etc., is within the scope of rituals, so these remaining things should be understood as such. The so-called "not doing the liquor business" means that one should not do pressing, etc., which are closely related to winemaking equipment. The work related to the differences in the training is only occasional, and it only happens occasionally. Just like cooking dry food, since this is not included in household chores, this ritual is explained. This sutra and the lower sutra come from subtle points. The so-called "not letting people run a tavern" means prohibiting letting people do it, and doing it yourself is even more serious, so it should also be understood that this also prohibits doing it yourself. Now, the third downfall of the Buddha made by housewives is to be declared, so it is said, "Cooking raw food," etc. For non-soft foods, one-third is the same before cooking, because it is not cooked. For soft foods, the color has changed. For liquid foods, it is said to have been boiled twice, because it is still raw. Whatever it is, it is added to that.

By the power of fire, to especially prove that which arises from cooking itself becomes a whole, therefore joining another part. For imputation, it is the combination itself; for the former, it is not a combination, but the combination itself. For the sake of the Bhikṣu Saṃgha, the Upādhyāya, the Ācārya, and those who practice Brahmacharya, there is no downfall in a secluded place. The meaning of this sentence is: for whichever Ācārya should be definitely established, it is also the same for his other mother. The meaning of "those who practice Brahmacharya" is: relying on this manner, here, by the phrase "together with those who practice Brahmacharya," there is something to be proven that is grasped, therefore it is said to be "different." Therefore, this is only a symbol, and the Ācārya is also included by this. Here, by saying "those who practice Brahmacharya," it refers to the Pravrajya itself of this Dharma; by saying Ācārya, it refers to the Pravrajya being summarized, it is the state of abiding, it should be known that this is not said for the householders. The word "ཕྱིར" (phyir), because it is cooking itself, by the power of the meaning that is in accordance with the Dharma, it should be known that there is no downfall for cooking. Showing crafts to householders, there are three downfalls. If a downfall occurs due to craving for food, then, therefore it is said, "After eating food, getting up from the seat and eating again," meaning, after abandoning the seat, eating anything that can be eaten, this downfall is not established as the downfall of eating without restraint, but rather, this is only related to focusing on one food, having the nature of eating what can be eaten, for getting up from the seat and eating again without restraint, it will become one downfall. The phrase "definitely done" is two downfalls. For that matter, if one abandons it but eats without restraint, then that is the downfall, therefore, because of focusing on eating only one food, getting up and getting up, eating again and again, that is the downfall caused by craving for food. Just like here in the Nidāna it says: The Bhikṣuṇī Thullanandā got up early in the morning, took alms and placed them in her own entourage, and then took the bowl again and again, ate again and again, and chewed, after chewing, she ate again, chewed again and ate.
