So. The second training ground is that a Bhikshuni, named so, allows her own limb-wiping to be done by a Bhikshuni student, these five aspects should be understood again. The third is a Shramanerika. The fourth is a female householder. The fifth is a female tirthika, if they are allowed to wipe their own limbs, then it is a downfall. Why is it enacted again with distinctions? Because here, entering these five downfalls, merely following one, a Bhikshuni should not wipe away dirt from her own body, there is this precept. Bhikshunis and others wiping away dirt from their own bodies have no fault. For those who have entered in this way, these five aspects are enacted. The sixth downfall of cleaning is allowing washing. Here, it should be understood as being done by a woman. Because allowing a man to do it, the fault of touching is considered very serious. If wiping is done with any other substance, then the previous five aspects are enacted. This is enacted only by allowing washing with water, the distinction lies in this. Likewise, it is said that if washing is allowed, then the distinction that is said is washing with water. The seventh training ground is applying fragrant substances to one's own body. Here, the term "fragrant purity" is the word of the sutra. The term "with fragrant substances, etc." is the word of distinction. For whom will it become the eighth downfall? Therefore, it is said "with the residue of ghee," connected to "applying to one's own body." Here, applying fragrant substances to one's own body by oneself is what is meant by wiping. It is not said to allow others to do it, therefore it can be understood. Allowing a woman to apply, as well as being done by others and not being done by others, is a Sanghavasesa offense, there, a man commits a Parajika offense, therefore here a Bhikshu holding fragrance only has a Dukkata offense. Allowing a person of the same gender to clean has no downfall. The downfall arising from cleaning

Eighth. Under what circumstances does the transgression of using water occur? Therefore, it is said in the sutra that bathing with hands clasped together is with a woman. Not with a man. Here, it can be understood because gross and fallen offenses are mentioned. Here, if it touches the navel, it is substantial, before that it is just a minor offense. From the perspective of cleaning, it should also be understood in this way. This is about the transgression of using water. Now, starting from here, there are six transgressions arising from adornment. Under what circumstances do these five transgressions occur? Therefore, it is said in the sutra that holding a mirror for the sake of adornment. There are also combs and brushes, as well as the word "three", and hair ornaments, etc. Using it for adornment, and for the purpose of pursuing adornment, so the word "also" is used. Because combs and brushes, as well as the word "three", and hair ornaments, etc. are mentioned. The so-called "three" is because the name of the mirror, etc. has this word, so it is called "three". Using them to comb the hair, etc., using various ways to adorn, in order to make the hair clean, etc., fixing the hair on the head with hair ornaments, and completing these actions, this refers to making mistakes for the sake of adornment, that is, these faults that will definitely be committed. As long as you start doing it, it is considered complete, because it is for adornment. Because its behavior becomes a whole. If you make a mistake again before giving up, it counts as one transgression. Here the sutra says, holding a mirror, or holding a comb, or holding a brush, or holding a hair ornament. The way to distinguish these is, if it is for adornment. That is, holding it for the sake of adornment, etc. Both meanings are valid. Therefore, the meaning of the sutra and the distinction method are the same, so they are closely related. Adorning the hair itself, because these things are known to people, so the word "hair" should be understood as related to adornment. Therefore, because it has been established, there is no need to say the sutra again. Trimming armpit hair and pubic hair should be understood as minor offenses. Also, the sutra says, giving up adorning the head, that is, adorning
