It is said, "To act thus": If the debaters and counter-debaters cherish the debate itself with strong attachment, and if they do not give up due to attachment, if they know that abandoning the debate may lead to division, but still have special thoughts, and do not cease due to attachment, thereby suppressing the Sutra Pitaka, the Vinaya Pitaka, and the Matrika, if abandoning the debate also fears that it may lead to division, then, with the thought that "it would be bad if the Sangha were divided," one should rely on establishing it well with great wisdom, that is, rely on other skillful means, and not in other ways. The so-called "for matters that should not be disciplined" refers to determining whether this constitutes a transgression or not. If it is not a transgression that should be disciplined, but a transgression that should be confessed, then one should also rely on establishing this matter well with great wisdom, that is, rely on other skillful means; if it is a matter that should be disciplined, then one should not rely on this method, because it is only a trivial matter. Should one rely on this method from the very beginning? Therefore, it is said, "For the elders who are completely defiled by afflictions": Even if the Sangha's root and clarity, etc., in sequence up to the end of the elders, are striving to pacify afflictions, but if they have not been pacified, then it is

It should not be done like that. When distributing, the right hand holds the Dharma wood, and the left hand holds the other one. Cover them, make the previous ones appear, and then speak. These elders are Dharma wood, without bending, without shaking, without breakage, with good color, fragrant smell, and smooth to the touch, take a look. If you are looking for another one, you should say, "Do not hesitate between two words." The other one refers to non-Dharma wood. Cover or separate, whichever way increases the Dharma, it should be distributed that way. If distributing covered, even if it seems that there is more Dharma wood, it should be distributed covered. If distributing separately, even if it seems that there is more Dharma wood, it should be distributed separately. Venerable one, do you know if your Khenpo and Acharya, and the same Khenpo and the same Acharya, and those who talk, visit, ask, and associate have taken the Dharma wood, you also take the Dharma wood and see. If you argue together, that is not good. Whispering in the ear is to convey information, and these words should be repeated again and again. Non-Dharma wood should not be taken, and if taken, one must confess the transgression of violating the precepts, this is a summary of it. One should not fail to ask the Sutra Pitaka, the Vinaya Pitaka, and the holders of the Matrika, this should be combined with "one should take the wood." This is the dominion over everything. Asking the holders of the Sutras, etc., is for the sake of fully understanding the Dharma. For those that are not one's own, one must thoroughly determine, and such inquiries should be made to the holders of the Pitakas. After understanding the meaning of the Dharma, one should know that at that time one should not take the words and meanings. Do not do it with patience that leads to division, meaning even with the thought that it doesn't matter if it turns out like this, one should not do it. Do not do it with non-Dharma, meaning even with the thought that it doesn't matter if it happens, one should not take the wood, even if one wants non-Dharma to happen, one should not take it.

If one knows that those two situations will occur, one should not do it. For example, if one thinks, "What if it becomes a wasteland?" or "What if an illegal situation arises?" Even if one does not have such thoughts, but one knows that those two situations will occur. What does this mean? If there are some monks here who are very attached to disputes, to the extent that they think a teacher will also appear, even if they know this, they should not accept a ruling. If both sides are evenly matched, for the sake of the great Sravaka, one should accept one kind of Dharma ruling, that is, if the number of Dharma and non-Dharma rulings are equal, one should favor the great Sravaka and accept the Dharma ruling. In this way, the dispute will be pacified through Dharma. If the non-Dharma rulings are dominant, then the dispute will be pacified through non-Dharma. One should not be discouraged by pacifying the dispute through non-Dharma, that is, if one is discouraged by pacifying the dispute through Dharma, this is considered a fault. For the sake of distribution, the ritual for pacifying the dispute through Dharma has been explained. For the sake of not choosing, the dispute is pacified through two ways: unifying the lineage and giving purity. Among them, unifying the lineage has been explained, and now we will talk about giving purity. Therefore, for accusations without fault, it is said to give purity. If the fault that the monk committed, the fault that is being accused of is faultless, therefore, one should give him purity with the nature of mindfulness discipline and non-madness discipline. There are four ways of accusing: unfounded, due to others following, not relying on remedies, and done due to madness. That is, the faultlessness of accusation has four ways: unfounded means accusing when no fault has occurred. Due to others following means following others and being accused by others, for example, accusing a monk who has committed a transgression, the Sangha, etc. Not relying on remedies means that a fault has occurred,
