Furthermore, the names of those causing downfall should also be mentioned. It is also stated in its treatises that a monk, before abandoning the training, engages in impure conduct, i.e., using sexual activity as a means of practice, etc. Therefore, it should be understood in the ultimate and definitive way. It is said in the sutra that it can be understood merely through the name, which is definite in the sutra. Therefore, this is summarized in this sutra. The phrase "any transgression whatsoever" means that any transgression should be recognized, i.e., "I have committed a downfall" or "I have done something inappropriate," in whatever way it may be, it should be recognized. For other downfalls, such names may also appear, i.e., if the covering of one's own lower body has a common nature, it is not a transgression. If one is to recognize anything among these, then? Therefore, it is said, "For one who abides in their own nature." If one does not conceal and does not confess, before whom should it be done? Therefore, it is said, "For one who abides in their own nature, who dwells within the boundary." Here, the treatise is based on the foundation of the petitioner, and "one who abides in their own nature, who dwells within the boundary" is the sutra. If it is not of one's own kind, is it also considered to be one who abides in their own nature? Therefore, it is said, "For one who does not differ in view." If one has already renounced but has not received full ordination, or the true vows of one who has not abandoned the vows, and the true vows of a householder, are they also considered to be one who abides in their own nature? Therefore, it is said, "For one who possesses full ordination." Does a monk confess to a nun, and does a nun confess to a monk? Therefore, it is said, "For one of the same gender." One should confess to them. Is it because they are of the same kind that one should confess, etc.? Therefore, it is said, "For this one, and including what follows, yes." The downfall that should be recognized, i.e., the downfall that should be confessed, and including what is said below, should all be done in this way. The phrase "for this one" means that one should confess to a person who possesses the distinctions of abiding in their own nature, etc. For those who have renounced but have not received full ordination, they are merely embraced by the Sangha of those who have received full ordination.

The reason for saying "because it is not" is that they exist entirely dependent on conditions. As can be known from the statement, "Those who have renounced but have not yet received full ordination should prevent the Sangha." Regarding the statement, "If it is done to those who belong to this Dharma, it is done," "those who belong to this Dharma" refers to including monks who have taken different vows, those who have renounced but have not yet received full ordination, and all lay people who have the view of the Tathagata's Dharma. For these who belong to this Dharma, if they commit an offense that should be recognized, it is done, and if it is recognized, it will not be concealed. Here, doing so is to abandon disrespect for the Sangha, because it has been said to abandon unreasonable things. So, why was this sutra made? It is to speak of what has not been said. Therefore, if one confesses to a monk who holds different vows, it will not be concealed, and the one who confesses will also commit a misdeed. The basis here is based on the question of Ananda about the individual. If you speak to a monk, say "speak" or "Ananda speaks." Similarly, if you speak to a nun, a female novice, a male novice, a layperson, or a laywoman, say "speak" or "Ananda speaks." Other treatises also say that if you admit it, you should speak to those who do not admit it, and if you speak to those who do not admit it, say "speak" or "Ananda speaks," and you will commit a misdeed. Regarding "also to those who live in other boundaries," if it is recognized, it is done, which is to eliminate the concern that "those who live in other boundaries are not any part of it." The basis here is that, similarly, if you speak to someone who suspects of living in the sky, or if you speak to someone who lives in the sky about living in a place of doubt, say "speak" or "Ananda speaks," and speaking will cause a misdeed. What arises from the precepts is said to all the Sangha, referring to the common part of the four Sangha remnants, such as the Sangha performing karma and its followers, and the four such as abandoning the Three Jewels and litigation, is for the monks...
