It is said, "Having learned, one should give alms." Regarding this, to summarize in this way together with the place of immaculate reason, etc., is this. It is said, "The order of medicine is an analogy," in order to indicate something else by this. For the sake of medicine, raw meat should be consumed. If one cannot eat it, one should find a way. Cover both eyes with cloth. In order not to step over it, fumigate with fragrant scents. If there is no meat, place desirable food and dishes in front and say 'liberation.' Saying 'liberation' is that which is covered with an eye mask. For other purposes, that is a great offense. Saying 'that' refers to eating raw meat for purposes other than medicine, which becomes a great offense. Saying 'human meat in all cases' means that even if human meat is eaten for medicinal purposes, it becomes a great offense. The Blessed One also reproached eating for the sake of medicine, so in order to prevent it, the summary 'in all cases' was made. If one knows that meat has been specially slaughtered, one should not eat it. It means that if the eater knows through seeing, hearing, or suspecting that the meat was specially slaughtered for him, then he should not eat that meat. Because discrimination has arisen completely, whatever is said to be not edible is not included in this. If the discrimination is certain, then it is knowledge alone. If it becomes doubtful, like having discrimination, because it is certain that it is doubtful, this includes it. It is said, 'The meat of a tiger's placenta should not be eaten.' If one knows it is the meat of a tiger's placenta, one should not eat it. This is said from the subtle points, some monks think that tigers hide rotten things, therefore monks should not eat the meat of a tiger's placenta. It should be connected in this way. The meat of elephants, horses, and nagas should not be eaten. The meat of one-eyed creatures, foxes, monkeys, mares, crows, vultures, ospreys, dogs, hawks, owls, and other birds that eat corpses, as well as hawks, bats, harriers, mule demons, and worms, should not be eaten either. It means that if one knows it is these meats, one should not eat them. Saying 'other than that' refers to those birds that eat corpses other than those previously mentioned. In some explanatory treatises, there are worms, etc.

Should one consume oil? One should not consume it. The sacred word says that it should not be consumed. In order to be free from illness, one may apply it to the body. Other things such as vegetables, etc., were asked by the daughter of a Bhikṣu Brahmin. The rest came from the sons of the earth. Is the giving and receiving of meat not from the prohibition of forceful slaughter? One should ask in this way. It means, is it not from the slaughter of humans and other meats? One should ask if it is prohibited. Is that not human, etc.? And so on. If there are many, one should ask the first one first. If there are many eaters, one should ask the first one first. What is said by the Dharma nature of the elders of the Sangha remains here. Therefore, it should be combined in this way. If the first one fails, then the next one should. It means that in the case of meat, one should combine and ask in this way. If the first one fails to ask, then the next one should ask. One should not drink the milk of elephants and humans. Elephant refers to relying on the chief of other kinds, without producing a female factor. Such a combination has also been seen, such as "of the kind." In some of the asking scriptures it says: Is it permissible for a monk to enjoy the milk or yogurt of a female elephant? A close one is not allowed. If someone enjoys it, what kind of transgression will it be? It will be a minor offense. Furthermore, is it permissible to drink the milk of a human woman? The sacred word says that it is not permissible. However, it can be applied to the body. This is said by combining the two. Applying it to the skin and wounds, instilling it into the nose, applying it to the eyes, and not eating or drinking, there is no fault. It means that using those to apply to the skin, apply to wounds, instill into the nose, apply to the eyes, and not eating or drinking, there is no fault. Here is the scripture: Asked by the daughter of a Bhikṣu Brahmin: Venerable, is it permissible to consume unseasoned medicines and cooked grain oil? A close one is not allowed. Applying to the body, massaging wounds, and performing actions such as nasal instillation, there is no transgression. Venerable, is it permissible to consume the milk of a woman? A close one is not allowed.
