The phrase "should not remain without being" is a word connected to the phrase "holding both of them." Wherever it is forbidden to hold it and go, and to stay, it should also be known that abandoning it is also forbidden there. Other than the one who lays it down, it should not be placed, held, or carried, and it should also be known that this is done by him. How the laying down is spread has already been explained. Now, the removal will be explained. Therefore, it is said that there are two types of removal: self-entry and separation, and artificial. What is removal? It is self-entry. It is said that the removal of the stake is accomplished, not by oneself, but gradually approaching entry. If asked how entry is accomplished, it is said that self-entry and separation mean that the stake has gone to another boundary, and that dawn appears within the boundary without blessing, and that those who belong to the mandala's scope are holding it. These three situations occur when the stake has gone to another place of the boundary, and where the boundary is laid, all the monks who bless it are gone, and dawn appears there, and those who belong to the mandala's scope of the blessed Sangha's boundary, at the time when any of them are interrupted. It is said that the stake is laid in accordance with the summer retreat. Why? Just as it does not appear in a place other than its field, so too, removal will only be destroyed if it remains in another field. Whoever dwells freely in all of them is that, and therefore, whoever interrupts this without blessing is the abandonment of separation, because it is not a field, just as it does not appear, so it is destroyed. Among them, what is the extent of this? Among them, this is also destroyed, meaning that whoever belongs to the mandala's scope is completely interrupted. Therefore, the six sentences like the word "Ma" are said to be: going by combination, and determination, and becoming ultimate, and destruction, and interruption of thought, and transgression of the boundary.

Those are the explanations of the differences of what belongs to that mandala, which is called "severance." Now, it is to be explained, therefore it is said, "To that, for that." Whichever person, if he practices the reason for complete severance, therefore, here, for him, the complete severance that belongs to that mandala is separately established. For all the Sangha, it is not established that way, just like for the previous ones. Therefore, it is said, "When transgressing the boundary, it is accomplished." "It" refers to the separate explanation. If one transgresses the boundary in any way? No. Therefore, it is said, "With the mind of non-return." Not with the mind that thinks of returning again. It is said, "Even if it arises outside the boundary," meaning, even when reaching outside the boundary, if that mind that is certain of non-return arises, at that time, this separate explanation will be accomplished. If there is no connection with the thought of making robes, it is at that time. If there is a connection, then doing that itself is severed. If there is the thought of making robes. Being connected with that mandala, and having remnants, and not completely abandoning severance. If this following of connection, which is unique, does not exist, at that very time, because of transgressing the boundary, at the time when the mind of non-return arises, that separate explanation will be accomplished. But if it does not exist, then when the connection with the thought of making robes is severed, will that severance be subsequently accomplished? No. Therefore, it is said, "Even if returning, it is the same." Even if returning to the boundary that has been marked, if the very thought of making robes is severed, then at that time it will be severed. It is said, "Even if returning, this severance," therefore, for the sake of some who might think that it should not be accomplished through separation, this sutra is for that purpose. For what is said, "Even if returning, doing that itself is severed," there will be separation itself.
