That very day should be believed. It is not necessarily only the monks who agree on the second day. Therefore, regarding this matter, it should be understood that whoever proclaims the day of dwelling, the corresponding wisdom should reside in such a single-minded manner, not on the second day, because there is no need here. The so-called "reaching consensus within the boundary" means that if one wishes, one should do the work of sewing the robes. The so-called "dwelling is also" should be connected to "reaching consensus within the boundary." For the one who dwells in the summer, combining the boundary means "dwelling is also." Reaching consensus outside the field of dwelling in the summer will generate unwholesomeness. Because one has already dwelt in the summer, one should not combine this with the boundary. All of these are done for the sake of dwelling, therefore, it should also be understood that in speaking, it should also be done within the boundary. The so-called "where it arises" refers to in what way dwelling will not arise. It means that one should not reach consensus with other previously promised dwellers to make them dwellers. The so-called "should be entrusted to him" refers to entrusting it to the one who has already reached consensus on dwelling (the monk). How to entrust? Therefore, it is said, "should make a request," meaning that merely doing the work of requesting is the meaning of entrusting. If someone asks, on the day of reaching consensus on the robes, should it also be entrusted to the dweller? This should be understood through implication. Because the day of reaching consensus on the robes should not be arranged on other days. The so-called "washing, mending, and dyeing, etc., should be done by him first," where "him" refers to the dweller. How to go first? Therefore, it is said, "by completing two or three things," meaning by completing the work of two or three things. If one completes something that has already been completed, one should sew two or three stitches oneself. It means that if that robe has already been made, then at that time, the dweller who sews the robes should do it himself. The text here is: The monk who dwells in the summer should wash and mend the robes of the summer dwelling.
