If one steals or encroaches, there will also be transgression. Because it belongs to a part of the body, one should know that this has become the body; because it belongs to a part of the clothing, one should know that this is clothing. Therefore, it means that there is no transgression and no decrease. Here, the scripture says that stealing with the mouth will incur a marginal offense. Stealing with a needle will incur a marginal offense. If one is free from the mind of stealing, it is not the ultimate of the margin. It means that for the act of the mind of stealing, and for the act of coveting without the mind of stealing, it only gives rise to the downfall of the act. It is not the fundamental downfall, this refers to the act itself. At the time of complete completion, if the mind of stealing is eliminated, it is not the ultimate and fundamental accomplishment, that is the meaning. If there is no mind of stealing in the action, it is not that it has not been done. The word "in the action" refers to the stage of the action. If "there is no mind of stealing," it refers to the fact that there is no mind of stealing when taking the object, therefore, only the final and fundamental actions are done. When there is no mind of stealing, the action reaches the ultimate, this only accomplishes the downfall of the action of the mind of stealing, but not the fundamental downfall, this refers to what is said. Here, the scripture says that if a monk takes a monastic robe from the clothesline, and the mind of stealing arises before taking it, and then takes it with his own intention, what offense will he commit? Before, it was a gross offense, and after, there was no downfall. Before, he took it with his own intention, and after, he stole it with the mind of stealing, what offense will he commit? Before, there was no downfall, and after, it was a gross offense. This is what the scripture says. If the mind of stealing is established when one has one's own intention, here it is said that it is a gross offense, this is how it is understood. Using letters and so on, there is no fault, it means that from the definite word "desire," obtaining communication through handwriting and Chinese characters, this refers to writing. Here, the scripture says that letters and handwriting, or stealing by arithmetic, calculating the value, etc., no matter what method is used to steal, there is no fault, that is the meaning.

Then, in the course of further analysis, it is said that now the final determination should be discussed. The so-called forceful seizure and forceful demand are not without stealing. It should be understood that forceful seizure and stealing are the same in form as giving alms, but are not stealing in essence. In this regard, it should also be understood that for the various differences that are mentioned, they should be included in the same category as robbery. Therefore, here the root is that there are many kinds of stealing by monks. There are six kinds that are close: stealing by force, stealing by trickery, stealing by concealment, stealing by repudiation, stealing by extortion, and stealing of the Dharma. If the Blessed One spoke of these six kinds of stealing, then which of these six kinds of stealing would lead to falling into the marginal offense? Except for the stealing of the Dharma by close relatives, all others will lead to falling into the marginal offense. The so-called stealing of the Dharma is not a sin, because there is no intention to steal, it is just understanding the literal meaning. Stealing by trickery is of two kinds: robbery and abandonment. If it is robbery, then it is stealing itself, and there is nothing to doubt. As for abandonment, such as the act of abandonment, etc., this itself is considered stealing. Concealing stealing, such as concealment, etc. Stealing by repudiation, such as saying it was previously despised or borrowed. Stealing by force is to seize by suppressing with power. Therefore, some people doubt that it is not stealing. Also, stealing by extortion is just not giving, it is not stealing, so it is not considered stealing. In order to eliminate these two doubts, it should be understood that the meaning of explaining this sutra. The so-called together with the place and not together with the place, that is, any object that is stolen together with the place, that is not without stealing, but complete stealing. If it is not separated from the place of the object, but is separated in the place, then here it should be known to steal together with the place. Here, separation from combination, then the two are like that, because even if it is together with the place, it is still stealing, because for the owner, the object and the combination have been separated. Here
