This is the teaching. The saying, "Alone, without cover, one should not emit semen," refers to when one's lower garment falls off while sleeping and is touched by a woman, hence these words were spoken. What causes a root downfall is that in a deserted place, whether day or night, even if one is not asleep, one should not emit semen there. Therefore, it is said here, "One should not do this." In monasteries and places without cover, being alone is also faulty, so one should understand this. A Bhikshuni should not enter into meditative absorption without closing the door of her dwelling. Also, "One should not emit semen" is to lead to the subsequent meaning. Both refer to a Bhikshuni not closing the door of her dwelling. Even with a companion, it can be done, but here, even with a companion, it becomes a misdeed to give out of contempt. The defeat due to unchaste conduct is complete. Thus, the first root defeat due to unchaste conduct is complete. What, if done, becomes a defeat due to taking what is not given? Therefore, it is said, "Stealing or causing to steal." Stealing is doing it oneself. Causing to steal is entrusting another to rob. Not only one's own body and speech, but also sending, it is said, "Also includes sending." Because a messenger also does it, it is the meaning of stealing or causing to steal. Stealing is sending, that is, sending to a place where one's own body acts. Causing to steal is sending to someone, entrusting to another, saying, "You yourself go steal! Go and steal!" This is making someone do it. Because of the special entrustment, it is thus separately established. Through the sending of sending, another causes to steal. Because the difference of being sent by him, etc., or by himself is not fully grasped, here one should understand the sending itself. What is it? Therefore, it is said, "Not given." Even if it is given, it is possible to take with the mind, therefore this is the difference. The scripture here is: "Whether it is a woman, man, or hermaphrodite, it is said 'not given'." How much is the amount? Therefore, it is said, "Five mashakas, etc."

Thus. Here, the scripture says, "Five mashakas or more than five mashakas." With what kind of mind? Therefore, it is said, "With a stealing mind." Like this, with a mind of attachment, etc., there is no downfall, which will be mentioned below. Is it possessed by a non-human lineage? No. Therefore, it is said, "Possessed by a human lineage." Because for what is possessed by non-humans, it is said to be Nāsmāda (不悅意). What kind of cognition related to other sentient beings would become like that? No. Therefore, it is said, "Recognizing there." It means recognizing that it is possessed by human sentient beings. If the human owner thinks it is stealing, then it will lead to downfall. Here, the scripture is, for example, a monk recognizes that these heavy utensils are possessed by others born, women, or hermaphrodites, etc. Thus, taking what is not given leads to downfall, there are five limbs: the thing itself not given, five mashakas etc. themselves, the stealing mind itself, being possessed by a human lineage itself, recognizing there itself. If any one limb is incomplete, it will not lead to downfall, it will only lead to Nāsmāda (不悅意). It is said, "Possessed by a human lineage." Taking itself, if it is not abandoned by intention, it is not separated from the owner itself, the meaning of this statement is that the wind and thieves etc. take the clothes etc. themselves, if someone is related to it, as long as the intention is connected to it and not abandoned, it will not be completely abandoned, as long as the absence of hope itself has not arisen, for that place of the object, it is not separated from the owner, that is its meaning. Here the scripture is, for example, tailors spread out clothes etc. Even if it has been possessed, for the intention of not being separated from others, for not abandoning the owner himself, what has been completed will follow. For not being separated from it itself and what has been possessed, excluding it is unreasonable. In that case, in the king's palace, thieves
