Regarding what is called "place," it should be arranged with skillful means, using anointing and bathing, which are things that should be done beforehand. Here, skillful means, because it is the main thing, these two should be understood as examples. For the complete examination of that situation, one should strive and be diligent, which means for the complete determination of the situation of death, regarding which state of the body the doubt of death will arise, that is the meaning. Here, diligence is repeated contemplation. Washing those soiled clothes of the deceased, that is what he should do, which means the clothes of the deceased who is completely afflicted by the disease, for which patient, by which attendant the death occurred, even if it is those clothes, they should not be washed by others, but should be done by the attendant. When the Sangha gathers, one should go before that elder, which means, this is the ultimate distinction between the dependent and the depended upon, for this final point, in order for the elder of the Sangha to be able to grasp, to arrange it closely, that is, when the Sangha gathers, one should first go before the elder of the Sangha. If obstructed while walking, one should stop, which refers to that elder. They should also do that, which means those whose elder, they should also stop when obstructed. For what has not appeared, go further away. It is also the same in the vicinity of the village, the saying "vicinity" should be said approximately. If it is like this when entering, it is also the same when returning, which means if one wants to enter, then for this return, one should also stop in the vicinity of the village. For those who look at it like that, if a guest comes, one should also tell him, please wait until the elder comes. It should be understood like this. What is called "for him" refers to the guest. When going out for food, when taking water to wash hands, if time permits, it is also the same, which means when going out for food or drink, when taking water to wash hands, if for those who are obstructed, time permits, then tell that guest, please come, please wait until the elder of the Sangha comes, one should inform him like that. If not, arrange a seat for him in that row, which means when sitting down, if there is none, let him participate in eating and drinking, etc.

Therefore, a seat should be arranged for the abbot of the Sangha. Regarding "Also inspect separately indoors and outdoors," here "indoors" refers to inside the house. "Outdoors" refers to outside the dwelling. In these circumstances, the abbot of the Sangha should inspect separately. If one is not good at distributing or not good at hanging, one should inform them for the sake of beauty. Regarding "One should inform these two," for those who are not good at distributing or not good at hanging, one should use this as a reason for the sake of beauty. "These two" refer to those who are not good at distributing or not good at hanging. Regarding "If one does not understand, let the scribe do it," this refers to whoever is not good at distributing or not good at hanging. Regarding "If one does not understand, let the scribe do it," if this one is not good at distributing, and the abbot of the Sangha is informing them, if they do not understand, then let the scribe do it. Regarding "If it cannot be completed, do it yourself," even so, when beautifying, if it cannot be completed, do it yourself. If one does not know the method, guide them with words. One should not speak carelessly to newcomers. Regarding "Whoever, the abbot of the Sangha should make those people observe the precepts in the temple and monastery, and they must be combined," "Whoever" refers to those newcomers. "Their precepts" refers to the precepts of the temple and the precepts of the monastery. "Must be combined" refers to not only making them observe the precepts, but also when practicing the precepts, they must be combined. For those who arrive suddenly, one should examine them separately and then tell those who are permanent residents outside the dwelling. Regarding "For those who arrive suddenly, one should examine them separately and then tell those who are permanent residents outside the dwelling," for the abbot of the Sangha who arrives suddenly for the sake of the dwelling, one should examine separately those who did not arrive suddenly. Whoever the abbot of the Sangha is, he should tell those permanent residents for the sake of the dwelling. For those who are about to leave, if it is in the direction, guest, dwelling, and companion of the dwelling, one should examine the nature of not abandoning and then give help.
