Touching with a mind possessed of (something) is specifically excluded from the ritual of offenses belonging to the Sanghavasesa. Associated with lust is the downfall of killing and striking. A mind other than this is established by the term 'mind to be lustful.' Therefore, there is no downfall in showing wounds, mosquitoes, pimples, moles, and tufts of hair, because touching with a lustful mind causes an offense, therefore there is no downfall for these, that is its meaning. The toucher is one or many, meaning: Here, just as with striking, there is no downfall for each act of killing. However, even multiple acts of killing produce only one downfall, that is its meaning. An offense occurs for an object that has become an object of enjoyment, and there is no distinction made for each act of killing in enjoyment, this can be understood from 'how is the harm?' Here, the scripture says that if a monk engages in sexual activity with one finger, he commits a downfall. Similarly, he commits a downfall with two, three, four, or five fingers. Elsewhere, it is seen in the scripture that engaging in sexual activity with one finger results in a downfall. If he engages in sexual activity with two, three, four, or five fingers, he commits the downfall of five downfalls. We think that this follows the basis of the training in striking and distinguishes it. Engaging in sexual activity results in a downfall. What causes the downfall of playing in water? Therefore, it is said, 'If one engages in playing in a water area, it is accomplished.' Here, what kind of offense is real? Therefore, it is said, 'Entering the water, diving, emerging, crossing to the other shore, striving with the current or against the current, making the sound of a large drum in the water, making the sound of a single-sided drum, playing with tiles, throwing, spinning, vajra, krona, waves, and diverting water channels are real.' From the large drum and so on to the end of diverting water channels, separately.

It is related to the sound of water. Through the continuous sound, it is also related to emitting and individually. If struck with a hard object, a minor offense is committed. When there are things like water bottles, dippers, balls, bowls, dripping sugarcane juice, beans, meat, and hot soup, saying "it's okay" means entering a place where entry is permissible, and then performing actions like submerging, which would constitute a downfall. Striking with a hard object means that in any place where balls etc. can enter, performing the action of water in that place constitutes a minor offense, i.e., striking with a hard object constitutes a minor offense. There is no downfall when meat etc. are hot, and it should be understood that this is not what should be understood. Striking with a hard object in places that have not been entered and places that have been entered, these all belong to minor offenses. Even the thought of entering only up to the navel, this is what is said at the end when bathing. Therefore, entering these etc. is actually completely dependent, unlike the case of being related to water during empowerment. Therefore, this is not the cause of the fundamental action. In cases where things like copper basins do not sink, they do not sink. Here, it is because there is the thought of playing in the water. Therefore, this is not the fundamental cause. In any case, merely entering the water to the extent of submerging the navel is to fully possess the thought of playing in the water. Therefore, sitting only to the extent of reaching the navel is not the cause of the fundamental action. For playing in things that are not water, saying "it's okay." The sound of saying "it's okay" is to follow the statement of "committing a minor offense." Playing in things other than water. The dripping that becomes playing is the act of playing. Whatever is a bodily game is the nature of dance, because this is to be negated, it is not included here. All others that are not the nature of dance, such as throwing clods of earth etc., and all bodily games, all shaking games, should be understood as being included here. Here, the scripture asks: Venerable one, if a monk plays with sticky things in a place that is not water, what offense would be committed? The answer is: A minor offense is committed.
