Do not make loud noises and play around, do not make noisy commotions, do not be arrogant, do not be haughty, do not strike the body. Do not change the form of body and speech with an arrogant mind. What is said here is what the Blessed One said in the Leather Basis: A Bhikshu should not wear shoes. A monk skilled in gestures placed a water vessel at the foot-washing place, washed both feet, filled his mouth with water, and stood imitating the posture of a peacock. The Six Groups of Bhikshus saw this and said: Venerable one, without music, how can the Bhikshu dance? They sang with their mouths, composing a song of music. When the Bhikshus asked: Venerable ones, why are you laughing? They replied: What is there to laugh at in this? Have you not seen that the Bhikshu is dancing even without music? From here, until the Blessed Buddha asked the Bhikshu: Bhikshu, with what intention did you do this? Venerable one, a little to protect the dwelling, and a little with the intention to laugh. The Blessed One said: For whatever purpose to protect the dwelling, there is no transgression. But having done it with the intention to laugh, that is a misdeed. He said to the Six Groups: With what intention did you do that? Venerable ones, a little with the intention to sit, and a little with the intention to laugh. The Blessed One said: Whatever intention there was to sit, there is no transgression. But whoever did it with the intention to laugh, that is a misdeed. What is said here is that even if it is the same action, because it is interrupted by different kinds, in order to show that transgression and non-transgression are the same, it is said that mixing is like an umbrella. Because of partial mixing, due to the parts of different kinds, here, because of the interruption by different kinds, all different things, because the parts of the same kind are the same part, manifest intention. The same part is the same entry into the same thing. Here, it is a thing that is different because of a different kind. Here, it is interrupted because it is the same action.

Even in the absence of inherent existence, it is established as a single inherent existence. Some obstacles are inferior, because of the lack of those, it is necessary to rely on abiding, viewing, and shaking, etc. One should not pass food through a container, meaning that one should not drink alcohol like drinkers passing drinking vessels to each other. One should not string flower earrings, it should be known that this is a detailed explanation of not pursuing craftsmanship. The so-called "should not establish" refers to being connected to flower earrings. This is just an example, it should be understood that this negates all acts of stringing, weaving, and hanging garlands. One should not give alms out of consideration for face. One should not run impatiently. One should not jump quickly. One should not rotate thighs and arms like a fish. One should not drive piles into the water. One should not beat certain pottery drums and large drums in the water. One should not smear plaster on pottery. One should not make the sounds of elephants, horses, the king of herds, and cuckoos. One should connect "one should not make the sounds of conch shells, cymbals, and drums with the mouth" to it. This is a downfall belonging to the basis of enjoyment. What should one do to incur a downfall of bathing? To this question, it will be explained as "in the position in front." To the question "from where to begin," it will be explained as proceeding from the fifteen days of bathing. From where to begin? At other times, one should say that bathing should begin from one of these fifteen days: from the remaining one and a half months of the Soga months, and from the beginning of summer. The so-called "how much remaining," to this question, the answer is one and a half months remaining. To the question "the remainder of which month's half remaining," the answer is the Soga months. If it starts from the remaining half of the Soga months, is it also possible at other remaining times? Therefore, it is said "from the beginning of summer," meaning that it is also possible at other times, starting from the remaining half of the Soga months and the first month of summer. These three and a half months are to counter the heat, so one should follow.
