One should go, and whenever one resides in that temple, at that time one should give there. However, if one does not reside in a temple, one should place it in that temple, so it is said. There, both cases should be like that, how to approach what is needed, it is reasonable after understanding. Therefore, both of these cases are included here. "If it does not harm one's own 'la'," means that if one hides for the sake of the Sangha or a stupa, and it harms oneself by not hiding but carrying or not carrying, then one should not do that, that is the meaning. "One's own 'la'" refers to that of a person who is in accordance with the Dharma. If something is missing that makes it impossible for the body to survive or harms the practice of Dharma, it is not like that for ignorant objects, this should be understood by implication. Regarding the word "Sangha," the scripture here says that the monks carry the inexhaustible treasures of the Sangha, as well as their alms bowls and Dharma robes, and wander around. At that time, the monks prayed to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: It should not be done like that, because an individual will become poor, but the Sangha will not change. Therefore, a monk should first entrust his own alms bowl and Dharma robes, and if he is able to protect them, then later he should also strive to protect the Sangha's "la." "The stupa's 'la' also" means that where one hides and leaves, it is known from reading that because it is said at length there, it is not examined here. If someone hides or carries and leaves, then who does it? Therefore, it is done by a person with faith, and for someone who is not a monastic, this is called "holding," which will be known later. Regarding the word "novice monk," it refers to having faith in the precepts themselves, and therefore extending infinitely from its position, this should be understood as "a person with faith." If there is none, then do it yourself, meaning that if there is neither, then hide or carry and leave yourself. To appoint there means to hide and entrust, that is, to connect to holding. To appoint there is also very similar to this, so it should be understood as leaving. "If separated, give" means that if separated here, give what is hidden or carried there. "Giving is also the same as this" means how to hide.

After taking it, is it as faithful as that? Written by a novice monk. If neither of those two are present, then do it yourself. Residing in a non-human place, those that arise from the merit of those, the foundation and steps, etc., of the nature of precious jewels, are without fault, which is similar to the merit that accomplishes the world, this should be known here, but not for others. For the sake of food, if there are no other vessels, precious jewels, etc., are also acceptable, regarding this, the sound of "also acceptable" means without fault, etc., if this is not present, in the place where there is no other, if those arise from the merit of those, the nature of those precious jewels is without fault, it is for the sake of following after it. For the sake of sitting, a dwelling place is also acceptable, regarding this, the sound of "also acceptable" means without fault, etc., it is for the sake of following after the place where there is no other, etc. Here, the scripture is from the basis of leather. Monks, when going to the abodes of gods and nagas, if you find seats of precious jewel nature there, do not sit on them. The Blessed One said: Those are produced from the merit of those sentient beings, so you should sit on them. If you also dislike what is said here as "there is no other," then this is also reasonable, therefore it is reliance. One should go by riding. By the power of the Dharma-nature endowed with Dharma. Regarding this, one should not act with coquetry. What should not be done by others than old age and sickness is stated in the minor sections of leather: For the sake of entering to listen to the Dharma, one should sit on a lion throne made of jewels with mindfulness of impermanence. For the purpose of proclaiming the Dharma, here, sitting and proclaiming the Dharma to the listeners, based on this, the training rules for dwelling places, etc., are taught. Substances such as these are also cited here. Here the scripture is, then, the householder Anathapindika, having heard, a lion throne made of four kinds of jewels
