Does it incite? Does it incite firewood untouched by fire? Does it draw out firewood connected with fire? Does it pile up clean or unclean firewood, or similarly incite charcoal? Does it carry charcoal? If wood is put in, then everything is a downfall, so it is said. "Does it incite firewood untouched by fire?" This scripture, another reading is, if firewood is incited, it will become a downfall, so it is said. Here, there is no downfall for inciting oneself, and here, ordering others, should be understood from the words of the scripture. "Unburnt fire" is the state of being half-dead, meaning that this is the doer of evil deeds himself. Here the scripture says, touching unburnt fire is an evil deed. "Flames too," for this sentence, the word "too" is mentioned to follow the sentence "the state of being half-dead." Here the scripture says, touching unburnt fire is an evil deed. Here If for unburnt fire and flames, putting in and taking out firewood there is only the fault of other fire, what is done there that should be understood as an evil deed? What is shown here is that putting in and taking out firewood there is the fault of other fire, so it is said. Putting in other fire is this, putting in unburnt fire and flames is not. Therefore, because of that reason, a downfall will not occur here. Only because of other fire will it become a downfall, that is the meaning. Here for putting in, it should be understood as a downfall. Hair and beard and nails and saliva and snot and vomit and spit, and mustard seeds and cardamom and sesame and oil and honey and ghee, etc., are half of the firewood, so it is said. For these that have become half of the firewood, it is an evil deed, for putting in and taking out these, that is the meaning. Some readings are, if a monk puts hair and beard and bones and nails into the fire, it is an evil deed, so it is said. Also, if saliva and snot and vomit and spit are put into the fire, it is an evil deed, so it is said. Please ask, if a monk puts sesame oil and mustard seeds

Furthermore, if Mon bean porridge is offered, what kind of transgression would it be? It would be a misdeed. Some readings say that if a monk temporarily offers butter, grain, and beeswax to a monastic, what kind of transgression would it be? It is a misdeed, that is the meaning. Similarly, it is said that burning bones and saliva is also a misdeed. These are spoken in brief. These are merely examples, and those that become grass, wood, cotton, wool, etc., are similarly subject to the rules. To bless another's actions onto another is called half-blessing. This is not to bless as it is, therefore it is contemptuous. Here, in some texts, it is said that if a monk touches fire in the actions of the preceptor and blesses the teacher, it is a misdeed. If one blesses the Sangha with the actions of the Dharma, it is a misdeed. If one blesses everything in reverse, it is said to be a misdeed. The transgression of touching fire. What must be done to become a transgression that reverses faith? Therefore, it is said, "Having done work for the sake of a monk's benefit, speaking to reverse the faith that has been offered." Whatever is needed in connection with a monk, that is the monk's benefit. Whatever work is done for that benefit, that is for the sake of the monk's benefit. Whatever work is done for that benefit, with the nature of supplication, statement, debate, and exhortation, that is work for the sake of benefit. "Having done that work" means "to what has already been done." To say, having done that work, to reverse the faith that has been offered, is to say, "Monk, give back the faith! I will not give it to you," and thus snatching it back. Therefore, it becomes a transgression that reverses faith, that is the meaning. This act of destroying the assembly is the fault of dividing the Sangha. The transgression of reversing faith. One should not lie down in the direction of a place with light, except for the moon and the sun, which means that the light other than the moon and the sun is the light other than the moon and the sun, the direction of the house.
